ok I was gonna write a fanfic of drarry but then I got sort of lazy and now I can’t get this idea out of my head and I know it might sound basic af but stick with me here
Tentative title: stupid Cupid
Aka
- an eighth year fic bc yolo
- one Draco Malfoy who doesn’t want to enter a courtship with one Astoria green grass
- therefore he helpfully pushes her in the direction of someone else
- and bam mr Draco Malfoy just accidentally started his own matchmaking business
- that summer after the final battle, Draco licks his wounds n helps connect others—not just romantically
- he reunited families???? Like a lost people service??? Idk I didn’t think this part through too well
- anywaaays back to hoggywarts he and everyone else goes and ofc the matchmaking business follows and Draco starts up a matchmaking club bc clubs are a real thing in schools and I can’t not believe that hogwarts has no such thing so here we are
- this whole time, mind u, mr Harry Potter is like stuck! in! a! rut! Getting back together with Ginny is both easy and hard and so he avoids it all together
- Harry is a lil listless thing and doesn’t really hear about Draco’s matchmaking until he’s back at hogwarts, even then, Harry doesn’t believe it
- also lets turn up the angst a bit and add Harry thinks it’s a little unfair that Draco managed to pull himself up so fast and that Harry is still stuck in darkness and gloom postwar
- but I mean post war Wizarding world hasn’t been easy on Draco either but whatever
- anyywaaaays Ginny lowkey (or highkey???) wants to get back together and Harry avoids her like the plague But come winter harry is like over! It!
- he oddly confides with Neville, who sneakily has been dating Blaise thanks to draco so Neville suggests Harry use Draco’s matchmaking services to get Ginny off his back
- WHICH finally leads us to Draco n Harry meeting like cowboys in an abandoned classroom
- Draco agrees to help Harry get Ginny a new ~partner~ (re: Luna Lovegood hehe) BUT not bc he wants to help Harry necessarily, but bc he wants to matchmake LUNA (we love a Luna and Draco friendship ok)
- obvy while getting Ginny and Luna together, Harry and Draco spend more time together ;))))))))
