Cavities exist within the gaps of my teeth, hidden behind my strained smile
The sun burnt my skin at noon, though by the time I arrived home all they saw was a sun kissed glow
My bones broken millions of times now held together by braces beneath my jeans, the fabric hiding the weight of the metal
When the doors close behind me the cavities show when the smile drops, backing against the door as I sit against the ground
The sunburn on my skin giving way as blisters bubbled to the surface, some leaving raw skin in their wake
The braces against my legs creek and groan with every motion I make
The cavities in my teeth spread slowly, eating holes into the flesh of my cheeks
The rot slowly spreading down my body, penetrating the raw skin left in the blisters wake, growing further into my blood
As holes begin to tear through my flesh the joints of the braces give way and break around my skin, the breaks in my legs giving way as they crumple to the floor
And as I sit there breathing in the fumes of the rot plaguing my body, I sit and remember that all they’ll ever see is the pretty smile, sun kissed skin, and vintage jeans adorning my frame.
