Her gaze that was once fixated on the program playing on TV was hindered by the placement of a white card, positioned too close to her eyes to be able to comprehend exactly what it was. Her eyebrows furrowed together before she eased her head back, eyes traveling up the arm of the culprit that managed to distract her from her show, only to find a beaming Tiffany. The elder stood there with a grin curved onto her lips —one that immediately implied that she was up to something. Hara met the expression with narrowed eyes of her own, a single eyebrow arching as a sign of perplexity before she nodded her head towards the card placed in her hand. “What’chu up to, Tiff...”
“Nothing—” A short laugh was mixed into the swift response, shaking her head before plopping onto the free space beside Hara, scooting close enough so both girls had clear sight of the small card and its contents. “Alright, fine. I found this on my drawer; says it’s a scavenger hunt around the dorm. There’s a prize at the end but it’s no fun to do it alone. Do it with me and we’ll split the prize, yeah?” She was sure Hara would be up for the small game but decided to do her best at sounding convincing anyway, nudging her elbow into the other’s side in a playful manner while wiggling her eyebrows. Hara couldn’t help the brief laugh that escaped in response to Tiffany’s expression, nodding her head in agreement once before clasping her hands together. “Let’s do this.”
“Okay, okay. Let’s read the first clue.”
If you're in a hungry mood, go here first and find some food.
Easy; both girls exchanged a knowing look, wasting no time to speak and got up from their idle positions instead, moving towards the kitchen with quiet laughter growing between the two, finding amusement in their harmonic movements. “You check the fridge, I’ll check the pantry.”
It hadn’t taken more than ten seconds for one of the two to pipe up with their findings. The second clue in the form of another index card was taped behind the pantry door, Tiffany being the one who had discovered so. Peeling it off, she waved it in her hand before calling Hara over to her side where she began reading their second clue.
Now you're on your second clue, these go on before your shoes.
“This is too easy...” Tiffany mumbled under her breath, walking out of the kitchen while Hara stayed in her place, eyebrows knitting together in confusion. “Wait, what—”
A sheepish grin curved the younger’s lips, inwardly laughing at her own inanity before she picked up her pace, catching up to Tiffany who had easily gone steps ahead of her. “Hey, in my own defense; I was thinking of sandals.”
“Sure, sweetheart. ” Tiffany shook her head, a light-hearted laugh following as she slid her own socks drawer open, finding their third clue printed onto another card sitting amid the many pairs of assorted socks.
If you want your teeth to shine, pick this up and spend some time.
“A toothbrush... Was this a child’s treasure hunt? Unnie, who even set this up?”
With a snort, Hara picked up the index card from behind the toothbrush holder, reading it aloud for the pair to hear.
You're almost at the very end, but this is where your guests come in.
“Guest come in?” The line was read over by Tiffany before the statement had clicked. Hara hooked her arm through the other’s, placing the card back down and proceeding to walk towards the front door of the dorm. Placed right over the doormat was a fairly large box. The final index card was sited upon the lid.
For the final clue, you need your eyes. Look into this box to see your prize.
Tiffany wasted no time in crouching down to the level of the box, lifting the top off and within seconds—a squeal could be heard echoing through their perimeters. Watching how the other hard reacted in such a positive manner, Hara stepped closer to peer inside the box with curiosity—however—Tiffany straightened herself up within moments, hugging a large, pink teddy bear to her chest—the smile plastered onto her lips portraying nothing but pure delight in what had been found.
“Are you serious—” Hara feigned disappointment, acting as if she was utterly stunned that the prize had turned out to merely be a stuffed animal painted in Tiffany’s favorite color, pink. Nevertheless, the enjoyment showed on Tiffany’s features deemed the small treasure hunt worth the time.
“Oh, oops... Did you want the bear—?”
With a short laugh, the younger of the two shook her head and reached over to pat Tiffany’s in a playful manner. “All yours. Go cray, pink gangsta.”
The two shared warm laughter, fading out into smiles soon after. What Tiffany hadn’t known was that the entire construction of the scavenger hunt had been devised by Hara herself, originally created to cure the two of their boredom, but feeding the pink monster’s addiction was solely the icing on this cake.
