Sing Characters + Alignment Chart Again: School Fights Edition
And now for more kid doodles, sing 2 edition! I drew these Busters and so they requested the movie. Shenanigans ensued
Ash was their bigtime favorite but they also liked Meenah, Clay, and "the nice monkey"
Clay that one of them was VERY EXCITED ABOUT and "draw another Ash" "okay, here you go" "they can be brother and sister"
These specific drawings don't have commentaries attached!
some fantastic thoughts by the girls include:
"What's her name?" "That's Rosita!" "I can say that! R...ose-ah-deet-ah."
[Nooshy comes on screen] "(SIGH...) I want to be JUST like her when I grow up. I'll know how to ((she starts listing tons of dance moves that I'm fairly certain are made up. The only one I remember is something about bounce spinning on her butt)) and YOU can be my student, and I'll treat you nice." "Thanks :^)"
[The space stage comes on screen] "If my parents would only let me, I would buy two rockets and have a clubhouse in space." "Oh yeah?" "Yeah. and you could come with me if you want."
"How did Clay Calloway's wife die?" (((they say his full name every time just like in the movie lol))) "I dunno! I think she was sick." "No. it was a big fight with guns and bad guys and (starts making shooting fighting explosion noises) and the bad guy SHOT HER AND SHE DIED"
"How old is he? ((points at Clay))" "I dunno! Maybe in his-" "I would say one hundred years old. Yeah, I would say one hundred. Because his hair is so white. His tea has peanut butter in it."

So me, my mom, and my brother were at the grocery store today, and i heard "Your Song Saved My Life" playing!!!
Maybe I’m Amazed
Clay Calloway sat comfortably in his chair by the warm fire in his isolated home, enjoying the rare moments of peace he got when planning for his comeback tour. The old lion was sipping his tea, wondering what else he needed to do that day, before a knock was heard at his front door.
Calloway stretched and moaned in slight annoyance as he headed for the door. “Who the hell could that be? Those damn reporters better not have found my house yet.” The lion grumbled to himself
The lion opened the door expecting to find cameras in his face, only instead to find a familiar koala and porcupine.
“Well, if it isn’t the two people who put me back in the spotlight?” Calloway greeted, giving a weary a smile as he welcomed the two animals inside.
"Hi, Clay! I hope we're not interrupting anything." Buster said.
"Nah, I was just having some tea. I need a break after doing all this planning gor my comeback tour." Calloway explained, sounding exhausted.
Ash chuckled. "Maybe it's time for a nap, grandpa."
Calloway chuckled. "I'm not that old yet." The old lions soft yet rough voice sounded playful for the first time in a while.
Ash smiled. "Have you written any new stuff yet?"
Clays face rested again. "Actually, I've been debating on releasing a certain song for a while now." The old lion explained as he led Buster and Ash towards a piano.
"Oh, what would that be?" Buster asked.
"It's a song I wrote for my wife back in the 1970s. (A/N: My headcanon is that Clay Calloway is around 65-70 years old at the time Sing 2 takes place)
"It wasn't disco, was it?" Ash joked.
Clay laughed. "No, of course not."
"Weren't most of the love songs you wrote about your wife?" Buster asked.
"Yes," Clay "but this one is special, it's one I wrote specifically for only her ears to listen to. The reason why I haven't released it yet is because I don't know if it would be dishonoring her memory or not if I did." Clay explained sadly.
Ash put her hand on Clays arm. "From what you told me after the show in Red Shore City, it sounds like to me your wife would be perfectly happy for you to release the song, as long as it means that you continue to make music and that you're happy." Ash said, recalling the time where Clay told her that he had a vision of his wife next to him before their duet in Out of This World.
Clay thought for a moment, then smiled back back down at the porcupine. "Perhaps you're right." Clay admitted, knowing that his wife would want him to be happy.
Clay sat down on the piano. "Would you like it to hear a bit of it?"
"Would we!?" Ash and Buster enthusiastically answered simultaneously.
Clay chuckled with an "Alright then" as he opened the piano, stretched his fingers, and exhaled in preparation before he began to play.
Baby, I'm amazed at the way you love me all the time And maybe I'm afraid of the way I love you Maybe I'm amazed at the way you pulled me out of time You hung me on the line Maybe I'm amazed at the way I really need you
Buster and Ash were spellbound as Clay continued to play, fully convinced that the lion truly did show his full appreciation and love for his wife through this song.
Baby, I'm a man, maybe I'm a lonely man Who's in the middle of something That he doesn't really understand Baby, I'm a man And maybe you're the only woman who could ever help me Baby, won't you help me to understand? Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Maybe I'm amazed at the way you're with me all the time Maybe I'm afraid of the way I leave you Maybe I'm amazed at the way you help me sing my song Right me when I'm wrong Maybe I'm amazed at the way I really need you
There was a thunderous roar of applause from the two other people in the room as Clay finished the song.
“That was awesome!” Ash cried.
Clay smiled and humbly said “thank you.”
“And it’s a great way to show people just how much you loved and cherished your wife.” Buster added. “What’s the song called?”
“Maybe I’m Amazed. I wrote it as a tribute to my wife for comforting while I was going through some big struggles, bad friends, losing connections, stuff like that.”
“It sounds like she was an amazing woman.” Buster said with Ash nodding in agreement.
“Yes, she was.” Clay replied, smiling as old memories flashed through his head.
“If you don’t mind me asking, Clay, what was your wifes name?” Buster asked, genuinely curious.
Clay Calloway turned to the koala and simply replied with
“Linda.”
(A/N: I went and saw a Paul McCartney impersonator the other day, thus the idea for this story was born. Paul wrote the song “Maybe I’m Amazed” as a tribute to his wife, Linda, who comforted him throughout the Beatles breakup process. And much like Clay Calloway, when Linda died of breast cancer in 1998, Paul also took a years-long break from music out of grief.)
