Black HerStory! Over six years ago I despised my skin and the history of my complexion in this country. I became enlightened at a small WHITE, wealthy, Christian university. There were three strong, smart, and amazing black women there that were patient with me and pushed me to see and become a legacy maker. They awoke in me a deep empathy and a righteous anger! It also pushed me away from God for a season, but He also was patient and waited for me to wonder and wander. Now I am enlightened, empowered and so proud to be AFRICAN! Africa is the rhythmic heartbeat of the earth. It’s drums can be heard from ANY place you stand on this planet. And without a beat you have no song... so Sing Africa, and everyone else will continue to join in your song! Happy Black History! (It didn’t happen in a month and it won’t be limited to a month with this life!) #singafrica #africanamericanhistory #blackhistory #blackherstory #history #herstory #black #proud #blackandproud (at Jackson, Mississippi)
