George's voice was barely louder than a whisper. His voice sounded so small, so fragile like he had never spoken words before. Clay stood there stunned.
George was here. Right in front of him.
After 8 years of not seeing or hearing from the male, he was standing right before Clay.
The more Clay stared, the more he noticed how George looked, and god! He looked amazing! George had always looked pretty in Clay's opinion, but now?! This was a whole new level of beauty!
His hips and thigh had rounded and his waist had thinned. His body taking more of a pear shape. His face was softer, his forearms and chest looked stronger and more male-like. His hair had grown a few inches and gotten curlier. He looked like he was glowing!
George's scent had gotten more sweeter and softer than before, now it was a nice mixture of Lavender and Vanilla, with a sweet undertone of milk.
George's scent was confusing him. There were so many emotions going through the man so he couldn't decipher what the omega was feeling.
Another thing Clay noticed however was the new mass covering George's pecs.
Were-...were those...breasts?
What on earth had happened in the past 8 years?!
Finally, after what felt like hours Clay was finally done ogling the other's appearance and realized that he was still in a conversation with the other.
"Y-yeah...It-It's me" Clay said while rubbing the back of his neck. "How...um...It's...It's been a while...huh?"
Good job Clay! 28 years of socializing and this is what you got?! Really!?
"Y-yeah...umm...it has been a while...a-almost 8 years...I think" George answered while looking at the floor like it was the best thing in the world.
"W-what are...ahem...What are you...doing here?" He asked timidly
"Oh...umm, oh, shit...it's been that long, huh? W-well I...um...I-uhh- I kind of...live here...now, so, um...yeah"
This is getting better and better by the second! What the actual fuck are you doing Clay!?
"Oh..Um..uh...Great! That's- That's great! Uh...I..um..." George was trying to look anywhere but Clay and honestly, Clay couldn't blame him.
What are you supposed to do when you meet up with your ex, at a store, and you left on a bad note?!
"Hey...Um...George?" Clay asked carefully. He did notice how the male flinched a little at the name but tried to not be bothered or hurt by it.
"Y-yeah?" The brunet asked back.
"I-um..." Clay signed and took a deep breath in.
"Look..I-uh...I...um...I-I know we didn't part ways...the best way possible, and I- I said and did some things that I didn't mean...I-I would take it all back if I could...but I-...I...can't. I-I know I can't say sorry enough, but I just-... I am so sorry, George."
Clay looked up from his finger where he had been fiddling with and saw the brunet staring at him, with emotion Clay didn't recognize.
The silence was loud.
And then...
George took a deep breath as well.
"I-I can't...No, Clay...I just-...I-I can't f-forgive you just like that...It isn't-... It wasn't-..."George looked at the ground and said something Clay was barely able to hear.
"It wasn't fair...You weren't fair..."
George then turned around hurriedly.
"I...I don't forgive you...and probably never will...I...hope you find what you're looking for...Goodbye...Clay" And he walked off.
Clay was left standing in the middle of the aisle, stunned.
What the actual fuck just happened!?
Clay walked slowly to the cash register, paid for his stuff, and left. On the walkway home, his head was silent. Usually, it would be screaming at him, but now?
It was silent.
Before Clay could comprehend he had arrived back in his house. He opened the door, walked in, and closed it behind him. He walked to the kitchen and placed his bag on the counter. He walked to his couch and sat down, leaning his head against the backrest.
After staring at the ceiling for a while, his mind finally caught up.
George.
He saw George...
He spoke to George...
He smelled George's scent...
He...
Clay went through everything in his mind. His first meeting with George, their presentation, their first kiss, first, first, first.
George had always been his first.
God, he said he loved George first and he was even the first one to admit it out loud! George was different. He was able to bring out a side from him that made him want to be better for George. George was able to bring Clay to his limits and he enjoyed that.
Everything they were before was everything Clay had ever wanted...
"Yeah, Yeah, I know! But Mommy needs to sleep! Aunt Iida said so!"
"Shh! Don't yell! Your gonna wake up Mo-"
George groaned at the loud conversation going on top of him. He sat up and saw the two of his pups sitting on his legs.
"W-what?"
"G'morning mommy!" Alina said and giggled
"Mommy? I'm hungry" Aiden whined.
That woke George up. He crawled out of the nest and motioned the two pups to follow him.
"Come on. It's breakfast time!" He cheered.
No pup of his would ever be hungry. He promised himself that. George made quick work to make the two kids breakfast and saw how little time he had before work.
"Alright, pups. We're a little late but after you're done I want both of you to go to the bathroom. Okay?" George asked politely. The two nodded and George went upstairs to quickly change to more formal wear for his job. Some jeans, a college t-shirt, and a gray zip-up hoodie.
That'll do.
George looked at himself in the mirror and stopped.
This hoodie...
It was Clay's hoodie.
It was the hoodie Clay had given George after his heat when Clay had to go back to Orlando to see his family for a short break.
George didn't have a family to go see so he stayed in the dorms. George had been clinging onto Clay like his life depended on it. He didn't want him to leave.
He didn't want his Alpha to leave him.
"George, baby you have to let me go. I'm going to miss the uber."
"No! Please, I don't want you to go!"
Clay had sighed and forced George's hands off him. George was about to burst into tears when he was met with a green bundle of fabric.
"Here, have this. It's basically drenched with my scent so you won't get lonely while I'm gone. It's like a part of me will always be here, with you."
George looked at Clay and then at the hoodie. He hurriedly put the hoodie on himself. It was oversized and stopped at his mid-thigh. The sleeves were too long which made him have sweater paws.
And true to his words, it smelled like Clay. Pine and Lemons. G eorge looked at Clay, who had a fond smile on his lips, and jumped into his arms.
"Thank you, please be back soon" George begged.
Clay kissed his forehead. "I'll be home before you know it, I love you" Clay smiled and looked George in the eye...
"I love you too..."
George wiped the few tears he had rolling down his cheeks and walked out of the bedroom.
George went to the bathroom to brush his teeth. After a while, the two pups came into the bathroom where George helped them brush their teeth. Aiden made a huge hassle about brushing his teeth. It took George 10 minutes to brush the kids' teeth.
He let the two go and asked them to dress themselves up. Alina said he would help Aiden and they both ran into their room.
George noticed that the toothbrushes were bristling and had to be replaced.
sigh, this is the second time this month.
Usually, pups at the age of 4-10 liked to bite things and nibble on stuff. George had bought them chew toys so when they needed to bite something, their furniture, clothes, or other people wouldn't be on the line.
Alina liked to have flavored chew toys while Aiden liked plain rubber.
Don't ask George how he knows.
George walked downstairs to put the lunch boxes into his pups' backpacks and waited downstairs for them.
The two pups ran into the room and George had to take a double-take on how they looked. Miss match socks, hair all over the place and some of the clothes were the wrong way.
Oh boy...Here we go.
"Alright. Let's get you guys actually dressed." He signed.
After another 10 minutes of hassling around the pups were finally dressed and ready to go. Because they had taken so much time they had missed the bus. So in a hurry, George called Iida and asked if she would be able to drive them. Iida had said yes immediately
Iida drove the trio to the school where George dropped off the pups and then walked over to the kindergarten.
The day had been exhausting from the beginning, to say the least. Everything had gone wrong but George was still trying his best. In his lunch break, the dean had asked George if he was alright. George responded he was fine. He lied.
His dean asked-no told George to ask for the rest of the day off just so he could catch up with the pups and his day-to-day life. George called the diner and told them he couldn't come in today. Max was pissed, George ignored him.
After he was done in the daycare he called Iida again to ask if she could drive him to the store and watch the pups after. To say she was excited was an understatement. She picked the trio up and drove George to their local store and asked when she would come to get George. George told her he would come by bus so she didn't need to wait. George got off and waved to the pups and walked into the store.
Okay, so. We need Milk, bread, eggs, toothbrushes, soap, and a few more things. George got the bread first then milk and the eggs. He was about to go get some flour when someone bumped into him. He stumbled a bit until he regained his balance.
The stranger started to apologize immediately.
"Oh! I'm so sorry! I didn't watch where I was going!"
"No..No it's okay It was just an accide-" George's smile fell when he lifted his head and his eyes made contact with the strangers.
Except it wasn't a stranger.
Those eyes George could stare at hours at a time, those blond locks he loved to caress his hand through. Those beautiful freckles he liked making constellations of. That scent which made George's instincts crazy...
The sound of an alarm clock was what woke up George from his slumber. George groaned and turned to his side. Slamming his hand to stop the wrecked machine. 5 am
He sat up and rubbed the sleep away from his eyes. He yawned and threw the blankets off of him and stood up.
George walked downstairs to the kitchen and started to fire up the coffee machine. After pressing it on, he left back upstairs to have a shower.
George took off his clothes and stepped into the shower. Letting his muscles relax and the water pour down his body. He washed his hair and body and stepped out, wrapping a towel around his waist.
He walked back to his bedroom and put on a pair of boxers, blue jeans, and a white dress shirt under a blue sweater. Happy with how he looked he grabbed his phone and glasses off his side table and went downstairs to have his morning coffee.
After a peaceful couple of minutes, George put his now empty mug to the sink and wandered back upstairs. He opened the door opposite of his and turned on the light.
"Good Morning, Alina and Aiden! It's time to get up!" George said and walked over to Aiden's bed on the left side.
"G'morning" Alina mumbled from her bed on the right side of the room.
Alina had George's brown hair. Although her hair was not as curly as his was, it was almost the exact same color as Georges. Alina had his brown eyes and the same button nose as George. George loved giving her kisses there.
George sat next to the sleeping boy and shook him a little cooing at the sleepy boy.
"Aideen~You have to get up sweetie, We have to go to school soon."
Aiden grumbled and sat up rubbing his eyes tiredly. "Morning..." He whispered.
Aiden also had George's brown hair, but it had a blonde undertone in it. His hair was more curly than George's and it was always a hassle to comb it. He had green eyes and a curvy nose.
George smiled and gave him a kiss on the forehead, Aiden giggling. He stood up and went towards Alina, and kissed her forehead as well. "Alright kiddos, I want Both of you guys to dress and come downstairs when you're done, okay?" George asked and the kids nodded their heads.
"Okay, good." He said and walked out of the room to the kitchen. He started to make a simple breakfast. Eggs, bacon, and some cut-up fruits. After he was done he placed two plates for his kids and one for himself.
Even though George was always busy with work and bills he tried to make as much time as he could to spend with his kids.
Two pairs of small feet could be heard going down the stairs and George turned to see the two children standing at the bottom of the stairs.
Alina had white socks, and a pair of jeans. She was wearing a pink t-shirt and a paige sweater jacket.
Aiden was wearing black socks, a pair of cyan shorts that went just below his knees, and a white t-shirt. That isn't going to be white at the end of the day. George smiled
"Alright kids, upstairs so we can brush our teeth, and then we eat, okay?"
"But Mooom!" Aiden said
"Do we have to mom?" Alina commented
George chuckled at their banter and took both of the kid's hands. "Yes, we do have to. We don't want to go to the dentist, do we?" He received furious head shakes. George laughed.
George helped the kids brush their teeth and tried to teach them to do it themselves. Aiden was a little whiny about the process but George knew how to be patient. Alina had no trouble doing it herself.
Alina was really smart for her age. She already knew how to brush her teeth and how to dress herself. Her teacher asked George if she could teach Alina more difficult math problems for her grade and George agreed. She was definitely the one who got the brains. She was always the one teaching Aiden new things and helping him understand the hard things.
Aiden on the other hand was a very creative and emotional boy. He would come up with stories and arts & crafts projects and many other creative things like nothing! The fridge was full of Aiden's drawings and pictures of their family. He loved how Aiden was so creative.
They were both his. And he loved them as such.
The trio was finally done with their teeth, they went downstairs and ate their breakfast, laughing and talking about nothing and anything at the same time. George looked at the clock and saw it was almost 7 am.
"Alright kids, go get your school bags! It's time to leave!" The two kids raced up to their room, as George yelled at them to not run up the stairs. His cries were ignored.
George grabbed their plates and put them in the sink. He then went to the fridge and grabbed the lunch boxes for the two little rascals, just in time for them to walk to the kitchen.
George put the lunch boxes in their backpacks and told them to go put their shoes on, while he would go grab his bags.
George went up to his bedroom and grabbed his backpack and his keys, wallet, chargers, and some files he needed.
He walked downstairs and saw Alina, with her shoes on and laces tied nicely, and Aiden sulking looking down at his feet, no shoelaces tied.
"Hey, Aiden. It's okay. Not everyone gets it as fast as Alina does-" He kneeled to help Aiden tie his shoe leaves. "And it took me until I was 11 to actually learn how to do them, so you still have time!" George exclaimed and ruffled Aiden's hair, receiving giggles from the boy. George loved his giggles.
"Ready to go?" He asked.
"Yeeees! Let's gooo!" Aiden yelled excitedly.
"Ready, mommy!" Alina yelled after Aiden.
"Alright! Let's go to school, yea?" George opened the door and the kids ran towards their walk to wait for their father. George turned around and locked the door. He walked towards the kids and offered his hands to the two, and to which, they both latched on. Together they started to walk towards the bus stop.
George has been a single dad for the get-go. His children, Alina and Aiden are the only family that he has left.
It's a normal Thursday evening, George is going to the store, after dropping his kids to school, when he bumps into a person he thought he would never see again. Clay, George's ex-boyfriend from high school and college, and unfortunately the biological father of his kids!
George flees the store and makes two promises to himself one: To keep his kids away from Clay, and Two: Not to fall for him again.
No. Matter. What.
Prologue
The sky was dark. The sky was roaring and the rain was harsh against the college dorm room window. George was sitting on a bean bag in front of the window. A cup of hot tea and a blanket wrapped around him. Somehow the storm was not scary to George. He thought it was quite calming.
He should have known better.
The dorm room door opened and a man walked in. George turned his head to look at the man in front of the door, taking his jacket and shoes off. He smiled when his eyes were met with green and loving eyes.
"Hey, babe. What are you doing? Did you get out of class early?" The man spoke while walking towards George and wrapping his arms around his waist. Hugging him from the back and nuzzling his head to the crock of George's neck.
"I'm just watching the storm, Clay ." George hummed and leaned back to Clay's chest and closed his eyes.
"And yes, my classes got canceled so I didn't have any. I do have one essay to do but nothing much. How was class?" Clay let go of George and walked towards his closet to change his clothes.
"It wasn't too bad. The teacher was being kind of an ass at the beginning though. Ugh! I can't wait until we graduate!" Clay groaned.
George laughed fondly at the blonde's misery. They have been friends from the start of middle school until high school when Clay asked George to be his boyfriend. He accepted and they started to date after. They were now Juniors in college.
George watched Clay struggle to put a hoodie on. He had his tongue peeking from his lips in deep concentration. ''God I love this idiot'' George thought and smiled.
But You didn't love me the same.
"Oh! Yeah George, look what I got in the mail today!" George turned his head to Clay and saw he was holding up a letter with a wax seal on it and in front of it was Clay's name.
"What is it?" George questioned. Clay's smile widened and handed the letter to George, fiddling with his fingers afterward.
"So...I-um...I was thinking about us and-I-uhh...I-I saw a program who are looking for people to v-volunteer for them and I-I applied." Clay said and looked at the ground.
George noticed how nervous Clay looked. He hasn't seen the blonde boy this nervous since he confessed his feelings to the brunette.
It was a red flag. And I knew it.
"Oh? Um...Wha-What is the company's name? And what are they asking volunteers for?" George looked at the letter in thought.
I should have ripped that letter.
"It-It's not important, but, babe-" Clay grabbed both of George's hands and looked him in the eye. Caseous brown eyes were met with nervous green ones.
"This can help us both. I-....no-We won't need to worry about money ever again. We can live the life that we both want."
Was money the thing that pulled us apart?
" I-I know that we have talked about our future together and what we want but-George you have to understand that I love you right? So please, please trust me that It'll be alright. okay?"
"Wh-what do you mean? I know I love you, but what are you talking about?" George's voice became quieter at the end looking for an explanation from the taller.
"It's okay, sweetheart. Don't worry your little head about it" Clay kissed George's forehead and reached for the letter.
"I'll make it alright, just give me the letter, hon"
Something deep in George told him to not hand over the letter. Something so primal that even his instincts quivered.
I should have given him the letter.
George stepped back from Clay's reach and ripped open the letter. Clay watched, his head lowered in shame.
Dear, Clay Isaac Miller,
We have seen your application to the "ASU" program and we would love to have you as a volunteer! Your physical health, as well as your mental, are just what we're looking for in this program! There are of course a few things before you can actually get started on participating in the program, but we'll talk about them in the ASU quarters.
A few things you should know about the program are that the program will start the second you sign and agree to the terms of the contract and that the program will last for five years. In that time period, you're allowed to have only one personal contact. Meaning you'll only be allowed to talk to the facility people and the one person who you chose as a so-called "The eye to the outside world"
In exchange for your volunteering will be offering you a handsome amount of money. The details of the payment will be discussed in the headquarters of the ASU.
If you decide to reject the offer now, that is completely fine. If you decide to agree I will see you in the lobby of the Alpha Special Unit building in New York.
Sincerely,
Adam Greywill, The manager assistant of Alpha special unit.
"The-The Alpha Special Unit? Are-Are you fucking serious Clay? The Alpha special fucking unit!"
George saw how Clay's head lowered even more towards the ground. Like he wanted the ground to swallow him whole.
The Alpha Special Unit is one of the biggest companies in the world right now. The company trains Alphas to become leaders, businessmen, lawyers, CIA and FBI agents, and many more high role people. The thing about the company is that there are so many rumors about the company. Many people say that the way they "train" people is manipulation, torture, instinct control, and many more cruel ways. The most disgusting thing about the company is that it is omega negative. The company thinks that omegas are just pup bearers and housewives. They try to get people to get rid of omega laws and rights.
It's disgusting.
and Clay knows this.
"I-I know you don't really like the company, George. and- and I know that their way of doing things is fucked but-but, George." Clay lifts his gaze from the ground and looks at George.
"Think about it. We wouldn't have to worry about money. Ever. I could pay for both of our studies, and I could make our traveling dream come true! Heck, we could even make the bookstore you've always dreamt of true! George, please"
I should have agreed with you.
"Worry?! You're saying not to worry when you have literally applied as a volunteer for a company that hates my kind, and you're asking me to not worry!?"
"No! That's not it, George! You know I hate the company as well, but just-think about it! We could live the life we could ever want!"
"No, Clay! do you realize that not only are you going to volunteer in that disgusting company but you would be away from everyone for five years! Five fucking years, Clay! What am I gonna do in those five years! I can't follow you to New York for fucks sake!
How did we get here? Where did I go wrong?
The yelling continued for ages. The screams getting louder and louder. One room, two lovers, one reaching for the stars the other trying to keep them grounded. One of them pleading the stronger to not go, and the other wanting to go for the other. They cried, yelled and screamed. Both of them wanted the best for the other. The glass they were standing on was cracking, and fast.
Until...
It couldn't hold anymore.
The glass broke.
"What do you know about anything! Huh? You're just repeating the same things over and over again! You're so fucking useless! All you do is flash your smile and wait for everything to be done for you! You know nothing! You're just a fucking omega! Your job is to bear my fucking pups and keep the house clean! What do you know about keeping a house together!" Clay yelled and bared his fangs towards George.
George was quivering. His instincts yelling at him to submit to the Alpha in front of him. To apologize and make up this argument. But he didn't.
I should have submitted to him.
"If you can't support my decisions, I want nothing to do with you. You should be my boyfriend and support me-"
"C-clay-"
"But you're just thinking about yourself. If you actually cared-"
"Clay, please! I do care-"
"No! You don't! If you cared you would have supported me and helped me but you didn't."
Clay walked towards his closet and pulled out a big backpack and started to shove his clothes inside.
"C-Clay, please listen to me-"
"Shut up! I said, Shut up!"
George felt an intense pain going down his body from his jaw. He sank to his knees and sobbed. Clay used his Alpha voice. Clay used his Alpha voice on George.
Clay continued to put his stuff into the backpack. Once he was done he turned towards his desk and slammed the dorm room key on it. Then he walked towards the door and put his shoes on.
"Don't ever call or text me again. We're done." He stepped out and slammed the door closed.
Come back!
George continued to sob on the floor, clutching his jaw in pain. He cried and cried and cried. In his mind, he was yelling for Clay to come back. For him to come back to him so he could make it right. George curled himself into a ball and cried himself for sleep.
He waited.
I waited
He waited for Clay to come back the next day. He didn't come back. Not the next day nor the next week. George tried to call Clay's parents and friends to ask where he is but no one told him anything. They just ignored him. George felt so alone. He was so, so, so alone!
Little did he know that he wasn't alone. And that two small pups were with him from the get-go. Safe and comfortably sleeping in his tummy.
