I'm going to try to do this more. Here's a new song called "Don't Turn Away". I wrote it for myself as much as anyone else. There's so much disgusting negativity surrounding/within us that it's easy to get sucked into it/let it take over and forget/lose ourselves. Sometimes we even believe we are fighting it, when in truth we are feeding the monster we would love to see starved out of existence. I want to stand firm against the things which I find unjust, struggle against the weight of that which feels unbearable, and lend my to support those that cannot do these things on their own. But I can't do it with the sickening chemical rush inside that comes from lashing out on blind impulse. I don't want be enveloped by pride, fear, hate, and ignorance.
