Special request for @sbrennanrp79 - a wooden body 1929 #National #Triolian found at @folkwaymusic today. I know very little about #resonator #guitars, so here are some details I outright lifted from www.folkwaymusic.com: 1) This is a seriously f*cking cool guitar. 2) This is a seriously f*cking rare #guitar, being a wooden! National only made wood body #singlecone #resonators for about 1 year beginning in 1928. Very few have survived...and this is one of them. 3) The "Bubbles and Blackie" custom decals were added soon after the guitar was built, although we don't know exactly who they were...perhaps a Vaudevillian duo or depression-era street musicians? 4) Wood body Nationals are warmer and less brash than their steel-bodied cousins. I am personally all for warmer-sounding resonators (note: that last sentence NOT lifted from #Folkway's website...that's just my two cents!) More details on the shop's website...but sadly (if you were thinking of buying it) it sold in minutes after it was posted! #vintageguitars #nationalguitars #vintagenational #nationalsteel #kathleenedwards #hula #silkscreen #guitarshopping #guitarphotography
