“is my generosity overwhelming you?” guanisi looked intently at amanda’s face, trying to determine which kind of emotion had caused her to turn down his offer. was it guilt over not being able to return the favor, fear that he was trying to use her for something, or was it genuine disinterest? he hadn’t thought inviting her to drink with him at the hotel bar would bother her when he had already paid for her room, but it was possible she had become wary of his intentions.
“i could avoid you altogether if you like, but i might implode from boredom if i did that. my concert isn’t until tomorrow and i have no friends on this planet. none that i’d want to share a drink with, that is.”
“M, maybe I am a overwhelmed, a little,” Praetor admitted, with a tiny and shy smile gracing her features. “I don’t know how I’ll repay you for the room alone.” She was a little more wary of mentioning the fact that she’d never so much as seen an alcoholic drink before... Just as well, she was expressly forbidden to taste it back then, lest she risk of her losing control. Not that the First Order would allow drinks in the first place, but that ban went both ways.
An amused snicker escaped her at Guanisi’s next comment, and she shook her head. “I was, rarely ever by myself for a long time, or bored. Imploding from it sounds rather painful, I’d hate to hear of my benefactor disappearing...” She tried putting a light energy into her joke, hoping it wouldn’t fall too flatly. As much as she’d expected being alone now, she didn’t exactly like turning down company... There were just so many worrying variables in her thoughts.
“I just might be... new to drinking. Among other things.”
