i tried reading the flashbacks together, just for fun. obviously style plays in heavily but perhaps 'cause 166 was allen thinking back while 236 is an omniscient narration, the characters shift from apathetic / closed off to a more expressive / invested portrayal.

what if tyki’s body is actually mana’s

and the earl’s body is actually nea’s

so nea actually kept his promise and already saved mana / took his place in becoming the earl, but the version of himself that he saved in allen isn’t aware of this cause it was planted before his plan succeeded.
