If Oz hadn’t been making eye contact with her when she said that he would have thought she was talking to someone else. Hell he still found himself questioning if she was talking to someone else. If he was in disguise he might have believed her. But as he felt this city was weird enough to warrant no use for a disguise, he wasn’t. He was simply his shadow formed self, with little phobias now poking out to see what was going on. One of which was taking to trying to brush his hair back to make him look ‘cooler’. Finally as he realized he was being silent Oz spoke. Though he would soon regret this action.

“Uhh... N-no... I mean not to disagree! I just... I didn’t know that. I was cute.” Now he was making things awkward. He ran his hand over his hair not to fix anything but to push back the phobia trying to brush it with the small comb. The phobia made a small noise in protest that might have been cute if it didn’t sound like obnoxious radio static. “Sorry. I’m being weird. Thank you. You’re really cute too, you probably hear that a lot though... I like your hair. The mix of bright and dark is really pretty kind of like an evening sky.”

i wouldn’t miss it for the world. but if something else came up, i would definitely not go.

          IT   WAS   ABOUT   WHAT   SHE   EXPECTED      from   her   sister .      still   rolled   her   eyes   as   she’d   finish   tying   her   hair   up .      still ,      she   wasn’t   about   to   leave   it   at   this .      instead   offered   the   other   a   smirk .      “      duh .      wouldn’t   expect   anything   else .      ”      teasing ,      though   when   weren’t   their   conversations .      “      come   on ,      stockin’      —      it’ll   be   fun .      i   mean ,      when’s   the   last   time   we   actually   hung   out   together ?      OH ,      y’know ,      on   the   way   there ,      maybe   we   could   stop   by   that   new   ice   cream   shop   you’ve   been   talking   about .      ”

          is   it   a   form   of   bribery ?      yes ,      but   she   didn’t   do   it   with   malicious   intentions .      only   really   wanted   to   spend   time   with   her   sister   outside   of   hunting   ghosts .      (      not   that   she   had   the   best   history   with   things   like   this .      after   all .      her   own   IMPULSIVENESS   too   often   led   to   fighting .      or   a   ghost   would   show   up   &&   RUIN   everything .      )      besides ,      it   was   finally   getting   warm   out   again ,      &&   the   beach   looked   gorgeous .

          but   if   she   hadn’t   done   it ,      nothing   ever   would   have   changed .      it   couldn’t   have .      it   would   only   ever   have   gotten   worse .      it’s   better   this   way ,      they’re   dead   &&   she’s   SAFE .      not   that   she   thought   THAT   mattered   to   this   near - stranger .      she   didn’t   understand .      but   she   also   didn’t   have   to .      but   kotoko   needed   to   say   something ,      didn’t   she ?      so   she   would   offer   a   small   nod ,      gaze   lingered   on   the   concrete   at   her   feet .      “      d’you   think   it’s   always   like   that ?      like ,      all   the   good   families   on   t.v.   are   fake   &&   there’s   no   REAL   ones   like   that ?      ”

the stare is returned, as enoshima tries to figure out why she was staring. not a single word was said between them. she didn’t know when the other began watching her, nor had she ever seen her before, & she wondered what she wanted with her. as she pondered, they kept staring. until...

“ hey!! if you wanna, like, tell me something? spit it out already! “

she’s unsure how to act towards the girl, so she goes with the default. she stands, leaning over the table she was at, to get closer to the other. she forced a smile on her face as she continued speaking, most of it nonsense that tended to get others to leave her alone or state what they wanted to get her to shut up.

She’s startled when she’s pushed so roughly to the side she barely has anytime to gather her bearings. Righting herself she sees a blur of color - blue with hint of pink - rush past her towards whatever the Saika weilder managed to come across. During her entire time in Japan she had seen many odd, unbelievable things but this took the cake. She knew better than to step into a fight she had no chance in but would that woman be alright? It bothered her that she couldn’t do more to help out but she doubted Saika could even take that monstrosity out. Kayla wasn’t even sure cutting the thing would work. So all she could do was stay on the sidelines for now.
