I think the problem with Dany and her potential suitors is that most of them seem more interested in the power she represents (her House, her dragons, and her army) than in her as a person. While it’s not impossible for them to eventually see her humanity, their focus often seems to center on how her power could benefit or help them. None of these suitors appear capable of meeting her on truly equal terms. So far, they seem to seek power through her rather than cede any to her. What else could form the basis of a meaningful connection? Shared life experiences might seem like an option, but Dany’s journey, from being a runaway child to a bride-slave to a queen forging her own path, has shaped her in ways few could truly understand. While some suitors have endured hardships, it’s unclear if their experiences would translate into the kind of mutual understanding Dany needs. Even with shared pain, would any of them offer true devotion to her as a person, or would they continue to see her as a means to an end? Ultimately, is there someone who can truly align with Dany, not just politically or strategically but emotionally? Someone who could love her for who she is, apart from the power she wields? And, just as importantly, would that person value her love without being tempted by the power that comes with it?
Thanks, anon. I think a common rebuttal would continue to be that this would be a helpless situation bc Dany is a political figure than a person to anyone outside of her own circle & Jon will come to love Dany the more he gets to know her as the girl.

This is another critical thing that keeps me from shipping them, too.
