But i opened a beer like in the coolest barber salons. I tasted the Lorelei from Omnipollo and Siren what i got to my birthday... and today is my nameday... So,it is an imperial porter brewed with toasted coconut and maple syrup It contains 10,5% alcohol and the bottle design is perfect! And what a smell is it! Sweet coconut,vanilla,rum,milk chocolate,truffel,coffee. Fantastic! The taste brings these aromas too. It is a liquid dessert! Harmonic,good balanced,hide alcohol. The sip is sharp, deep and corpulent. Good choice for nameday and hair-cut. Visited my boy Kabooby and he had some delectable bottles set aside for us to split. First up was @stonebrewing Double Bastard in the Rye from 2015. It was their Double Bastard Strong Ale which had been aged in whisky barrels. I loved the color! It was a deep mahagony. There was a little alcohol burn which gave way to tastes of whisky and vanilla. It had a spicy finish. It was really good! Next was Siren Craft Brew Maiden Barleywine from 2014. There were tastes of malt and caramel with a subtle grapefruit finish. It was great! The last brew was @risingtidebeer Hesperus. It was a blend of barleywine and strong ale then aged in oak barrels. #Repost @colvinology Origin of Darkness, a 9.6% rum barrel aged Baltic porter from Collective Arts (@collectivebrew) and Siren Craft Brew (@sirencraftbrew) with raisins, dates, and plums, and the 1/100 scale Zero Gravity Judge . No surprises here; this one has a strong aroma of raisins, dates, and even prunes, if you can believe it 😂. The rum isn't overpowering, but is definitely present, and the fruit aroma leans much more heavily towards prune and date than raisin. The body is fairly light, but the flavor is still quite nice regardless. You're first hit with sweet dates and prunes, before a touch of bitterness and raisin washes over the palette. The finish is mostly rum, but again, just like the nose, it's not overpowering. This one isn't too strong at just under 10%, but it still sneaks up on you. It's so mellow you could probably chug it (although I know some of you guys chug way stronger beer than this). I can't even remember the last time I had a Collective Arts beer (I can, it was December 26 2018, I looked it up 😂), but I'm pretty damn glad to have another brew from these guys to try. I know it's Stout Season, but come on, porters count too...right? Siren brew’s middle finger discount IPA with mosaic hops and cedar wood. A juicy IPA profile with an interesting blend of smoked wood chips flavour coming from the cedar wood. Overall pretty interesting and novel combination of flavours. 7.2% abv.
