Each March a few of us head up to Littketon, NH for some fun and relaxation. For me, one of the highlights is going to @schillingbeerco for a beer or three. I started off with @resiliencebrewing Gepetto Milk Stout on nitro. It was creamy with a taste of sweet coffee. It was great! I went with the Schilling Herkules Kölsch next. It was really good! My third brew was Schilling Trapu Belgian Strong Ale that'd been aged in Whistle Pig whiskey barrels. Good Lord! It smelled like whiskey and tasted like whiskey, but it was only 6.6% ABV! Glorious! Sometimes you want Death to darken your door...or your glass anyway. @backlashbeer Death Imperial Stout is back for the '17 & '18! It came in at 9% ABV but didn't taste boozy. Strong coffee flavor dominated the first sips. Then malt and bittersweet chocolate started to show up in the middle and towards the finish. Almost peppery aftertaste. This was great! #guesswhosback #thedarkness #beergreat

Visited my boy Kabooby and he had some delectable bottles set aside for us to split. First up was @stonebrewing Double Bastard in the Rye from 2015. It was their Double Bastard Strong Ale which had been aged in whisky barrels. I loved the color! It was a deep mahagony. There was a little alcohol burn which gave way to tastes of whisky and vanilla. It had a spicy finish. It was really good! Next was Siren Craft Brew Maiden Barleywine from 2014. There were tastes of malt and caramel with a subtle grapefruit finish. It was great! The last brew was @risingtidebeer Hesperus. It was a blend of barleywine and strong ale then aged in oak barrels. A couple of months ago, I hooked my wife's coworker up with some IPA heavyweights. They made a trip to Vermont, and brought back some treats as a thank you. This was @upperpassbeer Cloud Drop DIPA. It was almost opaque. There were flavors of grapefruit, pineapple, some peach, and a slight bitter finish. It was great! Sharing is caring! #beerfairy #beeritforward #beergreat

My boy Wally went on a roadtrip to Vermont from DC and offered to pick up some treats for me. He grabbed a 4 pack of Alena IPA for me. I had to go to DC for work and brought an empty suitcase to fly the beer back to Mass. Alena came in at 7.7% ABV. It was dank to start. Then flavors of citrus and pine showed before an earthy bitter finish. There was a hint of alcohol in the background. Huzzah! My boy Kabooby stopped by to drop off some stuff for my daughter and had a couple beers for me. I didn't go through them when he was here, but imagine my joyous surprise when I saw this yellow can! This was Yann Bandaña. It was an IPA brewed in collaboration between @austinstreetbrewery and @hoofheartedbrewing. It's one of those brews I never thought I'd get to try. It had flavors of pineapple and citrus with a mild bitter finish. This was as great as advertised! #beergreat #beerfriendsarebestfriends #collabo
