Here's one for my fellow self-doubters:

If you ever find yourself stuck in the train of thought that everyone else is so much better than you at everything, just remember:

🔸️Everyone sucks at something.

🔸️They just don't share those things.

I love to draw, but while I've always wanted to, I've never had the discipline to learn how to draw anything realistic or lifelike. So, whenever I see gorgeous sketches or paintings of people/places/favorite characters, I feel like such a failure.

But you know what, I'm not. Maybe I never learned those things I dreamed I'd be great at by now, but I'm good at other things.

(I was trying to sketch a dragon. It's been like ten years since I last attempted it.)

Work is kicking my ass hard this week, and it's only fucking Tuesday!

Thus far, it's been: Two cases of stomach flu, one death, one angry resident and therefor an angry loved one as well, two major apartment cleanings, the usual ward maintenance which consists of mainly cleaning and stocking up on perishables, the usual care-giving and hygiene assistance, medications, maintaining dialogue with our medical nurses because I'm the only one who knows what the hell is going on with all the caretakers, since ALL the other regular staff is either sick or on holiday, which is also why I had to work solo yesterday, doing two people's job.

How is anyone surprised that there's a massive shortage of caregivers in this country?? This is what the past year has been like for me. No one can manage that forever. I'm so unbelievably tired, there isn't even a word for it.

Here's some info no one asked for, but I need to unburden myself.

I'm once again having a tough time making the energy I've got last for more than work each day, so writing is happening at a pace of maybe four hours a week at the moment.

I know that most of you are aware of my issues with work and that you don't want me to feel pressured to write. So, let me assure you, I'm not feeling any pressure. What I feel is sadness, because writing is what helps me feel better, so when I can't write, everything seems so much worse.

I'm not fishing for sympathy either, this is just me venting in the hopes that it might take some of the negative energy that I currently associate with writing, away.

As always, thank you all for being awesome human beings, and I look forward to better days ahead 💙

Just to let my loyal readers know, I'm currently in a weird kind of limbo with my writing. I'm having lots of ideas, just not for the projects that are already ongoing, those have both hit a wall.

So, to get some writing going, I'm jumping on any idea that takes my fancy, which is why I'm now in the process of creating my first Din Djarin series in almost two years.

This does not mean that I'm pausing my work on TLI or The Stranger, I'm gonna try and keep all three going, using Din as my kickstarter whenever I get stuck.

Birthday Stories

Hey, everyone.

As mentioned, B-days aren't my favorite days of a year, but I'm trying to make this upcoming one a bit better than previous ones, to which end I've asked you to help me with inspiring some writing.

Well, you have, and this is where I'll be posting everything I have or will write based on your prompts, or just my own imagination.

The day in question isn't until June 30th, and I'm planning on posting one short-story a day until then, starting tomorrow, and continuing daily until I have nothing more to add.

The stories are varied. Some are reader inserts, some are not, some involve Pedro characters, some don't. This will be a gallimaufry of creativity and my general love of writing, so expect anything and everything.

And if you feel like helping me add to this - please do! Send me anything you want, even just a single word and I'll challenge myself to turn it into hundreds. Help me celebrate in the way that I love to, and the way that only you, my peers, understand!

To everyone that reads my ongoing writing;

I'm dealing with a lot of challenges at work right now, plus problems with my health (nothing acute or severe, but impeding) so I'm forced to deprioritize my writing for a while.

I'll still be writing, because I love it too much not to, but I probably won't be updating at a weekly basis, as has been my goal in the past. This might only take weeks to improve, but it could also take months, and I need to take the pressure off myself to always update within my preferred time frame.

I know it's easy to lose track of stories that aren't regularly or frequently updated, and I won't be upset with anyone for moving on to other things. I just need to focus on myself for a while.

So, a couple of days ago, I got a notif that someone had liked my Tovar Christmas Special, which was lovely and made me nostalgic. I hadn't read it since I posted it, so I decided to reread it last night.

Only to be absolutely mortified to suddenly realize that Part 2 feels like an almost completely disconnected story! Pero's character makes a totally 180 on his previous behavior in no seconds flat, and now I'm so fucking pissed at myself!!

Hence, me sitting in my sofa on a Saturday evening, REWRITING THE DAMNED THING.

The entire second part.

In the middle of fucking summer.

Why am I like this?!?!
