So, seriously, can someone who knows more about...
I’m pretty sure yogurt is presumed to be “for women”, and, of course, all women want low/non-fat food, so it’s really hard to find yogurt that isn’t “diet”. How gross is that?
Totes gross. “Hey everybody - food is gendered! Some things are only for ladyfolks and some things are only for REAL MANS [muscle flexing noises and gratuitous grunting]”. Yeesh.
But, I mean, for people with certain levels of lactose intolerance that ingest dairy, it’s a much more reliable (and less likely to be nausea-inducing) to get the nutritional benefits of milk foods than drinking milk.
And also on the gross scale, most “diet/light/lite” things are artificially sweetened and artificial sweeteners leave such an AWFUL chemical aftertaste in my mouth. I think saccharine may be the worst. I can’t believe when I was a kid I used to think it was fun to tear open one of the little pink “sugar” packets at restaurants and dip it out with my finger. Clearly children shouldn’t be the ones in charge of making nutritional decisions. O_o
