SHE SMILED with glee as she kept refreshing her profile. y/n had only been asleep for 3 hours before she was bombarded with messages & phone calls from her agent. it felt like a dream to have her favorite YouTuber follow her, let alone like & comment on her most recent post.
she didn't want to get her hopes up just in case it was just nothing . she considered that maybe it was just grayson showing support for a smaller youtuber. she sighed as she poured herself some coffee.
as the silence swallowed the ambience, she looked around at her empty apartment. she couldn't help but feel a bit homesick. as much as she was grateful to have everything she's dreamt of, there was a part of her that just felt empty.
she couldn't help only shake her head as she brought herself back to reality, thanks to the help of her phone ringer. she rolled her eyes as the notifications kept going off.
her heart stopped at the sight of a specific message. she had to put her device down before glancing at it one more time to make sure she was seeing correctly.

maybe it was somebody pretending to be him. as y/n clicked onto the dm , she felt herself trembling with anticipation. as she clicked open the message, a blue verification flag was next to his name.
she screamed as loudly as possible before she composed herself enough to muster up a response.

she continued holding her phone in her hands, trembling as she awaited a response. after it had been a good 5 minutes, she gave up & thought about going on with her day. it was just him trying to be nice & make her feel welcomed into the youtube community. she had received plenty of similar messages so she didn't think to hard about it.
it was shortly after that she had begun working on other projects that she felt her phone vibrate. her heart once again sank as she turned it on to be met with another message from grayson.

y/n squealed with glee. this had been the best thing to have happened to her in a while. everything she ever wanted was finally paying off. she stopped in her thoughts, she couldn't get ahead of herself. the boys probably had partners. this crush she had on them was only her imagination. there was no way she would ever be their type, she'd just been watching too many edits of them.
once she responded to his dm with her own snap, she didn't think twice as she opened up her snapchat & made sure she had him added on there. all she could do was just wait for the add back. it could potentially take days, considering how many people try to add them-
there was a ding.
she glanced down & saw that she had been added back. along with that came a message from grayson, again.
y/n had to take a moment to gather her thoughts. this was real life, right? or was she dreaming? no, there was no way she was dreaming. everything felt too real to only be a made up dream.

the two ended up texting for a good chunk of the day, both just planning out their video, a good date & how it would go down. not only that but they were also just getting to know each other a little better. y/n was able to open up to him about how horrible her social anxiety was & how being a content creator has helped her in social interactions.
grayson opened up to her about the downside to being male content creator ( crazy fans, stalker, etc.) but that at the end of the day, they could only feel gratitude over everyone who has gotten then to where they are today. they bonded over ups & downs of living on their own in a whole different city. before they realized, the day had full disappeared & it was time to sleep.

she fiddled with the straps on her backpack. her stomach was filled with butterflies. it had been two weeks of texting & planning the prank grayson & her would pull off on ethan. there was so much that was going on that she couldn't fully pinpoint her mind onto one thing. her only thought was that she was going to meet THE grayson dolan. after years of watching him, she was going to be able to meet/ work with him.
her thoughts continued jumping around.
it was then that a strong smell of cologne hit her nostrils.
"y/n?"
she turned & saw the teen standing before her. y/n scrambled to find the perfect words to greet him with. " hi. nice to meet you."
"nice meeting you too. wow this is awesome. hey thanks so much for agreeing to do this prank with me. ethan is going to flip when he finds out."
y/n watched him as he continued blabbering on about the prank & how good it was going to be. it was only a couple of seconds later that he managed to realize that the girl was just staring at him, sitting in silence. "i'm sorry. where are my manners. i had you meet with me here at starbucks, least i can do i get you something."
he gave her a toothy grin. she could only shake her head & mutter , " just a water is fine. thank you." he nodded as he walked to stand in line.
y/n mentally kicked herself. she could text him with no issue but in person? she became shy. whyyyyy? she sighed as she watched the boy come back with drinks. " so let's talk about it. how will this happen? "
" well i was thinking that we could start off in the warehouse. you & ethan could do record a 'truth or dare' video. meanwhile, i'll make some noises through the building. that way he's getting an eerie feeling. then you could have him check out the-" y/n blushed as she could feel his stare on her.
"um did you have anything you wanted to add?" she quickly grabbed her pencil & started scribbling away at her ideas notepad. he shook his head 'no'.
"i think so far i like your idea. continue."
"well...um.. long story short i would just basically play the role of a creepy stalker, i think i'd even wear a disguise to give you guys the creeps. i could just make noises around you guys, let him see me a couple of times so he knows someone is there but you play it off as if no one was there."
he laughed & nodded. " i like that."
she could feel her nervous jitters melting away with every moment he made her feel comfortable. they would end up being in the coffee shop for an extra 3 hours. just talking some more but also putting the plan into action. it was all set. the next step was to get a disguise for the following day. afterwards, y/n would wait for the perfect time to break into the warehouse.
as she drove home, her phone vibrated. she smiled at the sight of the messenger. it had been grayson.
