Re: Sister Amell
I've received several messages concerning the disappearance of CB's founder, Sister Amell. Although I haven't been in contact with her for a while, she did explain to me before she handed over the blog admin why she was leaving. Sister Amell disagreed with the current form of Feminism (which she called "Modern Entitled Female Supremacy"), and often spoke out for true equality, rather than anti-male attitudes. She also believed that heterophobia was just as valid as homophobia and racism against any race - even white races - was wrong. Although these are unpopular opinions, Sister Amell did not attack people who disagreed, nor did she spread hate. In fact, anyone who was friends with her would agree that she was a kind, decent, respectful, helpful, and warm person. She treated all peoples as equal. Those who called themselves "Social Justice Warriors" - but were more accurately described by her as "Social Vengeance Terrorists" - took offense at her beliefs. The last straw was when Amell dared to defend Cullen and Cassandra's rights to be heterosexual as valid as Dorian's right to be homosexual. She was accosted with hate messages, harassed, threatened, and stalked. Apparently, those SVTs tracked her down on other social media platforms and terrorized her for months - even hacking her accounts. It got so bad that she fell into anxiety and depression. She finally made the decision to leave all social media and online communication completely. Last I heard, she was doing better, but was too anxious to be online. Thank you to all of you who asked about her, those who defended her, and ones who were friends of hers. I'm sure we all wish her well and miss her dearly. For now, at least, I'll take care of CB as best I can without her.
