"i heard about the team." she came to see piers as soon as she could, blythe had been with krauser and adrien obviously, working from above to provide cover and support. "i'm so sorry, piers." she said, trying to offer as much comfort as she could, wrapping her arms around him. / sisterheart ~
Piers jerks in his chair when he hears the door open, hands shaking, but only for a moment before he smooths the mask over.
The date is January 1st, 2013.
Eight days ago, everything was lost. Ben, Carl, Andy, Finn... Not to mention whole platoons of soldiers. Piers himself is just freshly out of the infirm, having been told over and over again that the injuries he did have still needed to be treated, even if he was not even close to the most wounded there was. He knows they don't want him on the field yet... But he's eager to get back into action.
He's been getting reports, of course, had been ever since his first day confined to the hospital. Looks like in the last week, bioweapon activity had spiked in several points across Edonia. Evidently, Ada Wong had planned to take out BSAA leadership before overwhelming the remaining troops. If they didn't act now, the J'avo would have free reign over the entire state, and nothing good was going to come of that... Of course, Krauser's little cell had been busy too, and he's glad as always to find that Blythe hasn't been hurt in any fashion.
It wasn't going to be an issue, though. Chris and himself were both still accounted for, and one setback wasn't going to stop their mission in its tracks. Piers reaches up and hugs her, gingerly given the state of his ribs and arms--still a bit tender from the fighting. He's glad to see her, and he knows she'd have been here sooner if she could have. It was probably for the best, though. All he can hope is that Christmas hasn't been ruined for her, or the rest of the family for that matter.
It's not what he means to say. What came out of his mouth was supposed to be 'I'll be alright'. Truth came out regardless, it seemed. Always too honest, him, never been good at lying. Supposedly, you were supposed to stop seeing the flashes every time you blinked after a few weeks.
"Have you talked to Chris yet? He got banged up pretty bad." Piers asked. "He's gonna need another week or two, probably."
He last spoke to Chris yesterday, but no one's been sent to update him today.
