'Sister Midnight’s director Karan Kandhari came really close to abandoning the film because he couldn’t find a actor suitable enough to play the role of Uma, the main charachter. In the end, it all hinged on whether or not Radhika would say yes to playing the titular role or not. Radhika ended up being casted and the rest is history!

A new trailer has been released for Sister Midnight. No release date was specified.

In SISTER MIDNIGHT, the audacious debut feature from London based Indian artist and filmmaker Karan Kandhari, rebellious small-town misfit Uma (Radhika Apte) arrives in Mumbai to find herself totally unsuited to life as a housewife. At odds with her prying neighbors and under the constant oppressive noise and heat of the city, she decides to break free from the shackles of domesticity and follow her own path in this bold, unpredictable, and darkly funny debut.
