I feel like comedy nowadays are pre-written so that it won’t offend people, and that’s what kills it and makes it inherently unfunny to begin with.
I like comedies when it’s not afraid to get a little cringey.
Comedy simply doesn’t work if you sanitize it too much.
Doing my rewatch of scrubs, and a lot of the jokes are cut up or just straight up taken out and then the beginning of the joke doesn’t make sense anymore.
Son of a Witch
a sitcom about a kid whose mom is a witch and hilarity ensues all Malcolm in the middle style
One of my favorite tropes from sitcoms:
wife: do *random thing husband doesn't want to do* and then I will do that thing you like ;) husband: *raises eyebrow* oh, what thing? wife: *whispers in his ear* husband: oh, okay yeah I'll do *random thing I didn't want to do* *cue laugh track*
