“My lord,” his voice was tight, consonants straining out through bared teeth. He loathed these meetings. He worked hard, he strove for greatness. And Vader-- he had everything. He could end someone’s life simply because he was in poor spirits, and there would be no repercussions. Yet Krennic couldn’t help but poke the hornet’s nest.
“Your last visit was a matter of days ago. Surely you can’t expect there to have been much progress in your absence.” He knew that no one believed in the project as firmly as he did-- even Galen. But he would risk everything to see it to completion. It was his legacy, he knew that its success would solidify his place in the Emperor’s inner circle.
“If you want to tour the construction, I can arrange to take you through it again.” He couldn’t help but be a little irritated. Whenever Vader appeared, trouble was never far behind. He grit his teeth, trying to keep mutiny out of his tone, trying to remain diplomatic. “You have to know how difficult it is to get work done with constant interruptions.” Reckless. It slipped out before he could stop himself.
