Sitos

One of the lower tier demons, it is not very powerful outright. Its strength lies in its ability to remain undetected long enough to cause serious damage to other demon realms/lairs. It is a parasite, stealing power and resources from other demons for its own. The longer it stays “rooted”, the more power it amasses and the more detrimental it becomes. It is a cancer to others, and by the time it is finally discovered, it has usually done significant (and sometimes irreparable) damage. It has eradicated many lesser demons and their realms by doing so.

Seeing as it gets most of what it needs from other demons, it doesn’t venture into mortal realm much. It only does so when it is desperate and cannot get what it needs any other way. When it does enter the mortal realm, it keeps itself hidden and waits patiently for an unwitting victim to cross its path. Those occasional mutilated bodies that turn up in remote locations with no explanation? Could be its work.

Appearance-wise, it has a long, segmented body. It’s covered in a tough, off-white carapace and its vulnerable spot is its fleshy, red underside. Its head is adorned with writhing tentacles. It has three eyes with pupils that resemble that of goats or octopuses. The carapace that covers its face is split down the middle, and can pull itself apart to reveal a greater maw. “Tentacles” also run down the creature’s back, but can detach when Sitos is threatened. Sitos commands the “tentacles” neurologically, and can have them attack and latch onto prey or predators. If they do so, they will bite into their victim and drain its blood. They are potentially as lethal as Sitos itself if enough go after a single target. Sitos has six primary arms, and each hand has three fingers. It uses these arms, as well as tentacles that run along its lower underside to move quickly, similar to a centipede. A few specialized tentacles on the “butt” of its body are used to root the creature into the ground when it desires to sap power from another realm. Sitos can curl its body around itself if it is threatened, and its carapace will protect it from most assaults.

Sitos is a hermaphrodite and can impregnate other demons, as well as become impregnated. Many demons find it far too repulsive to reproduce with, which is a blessing. Sitos can produce several hundred to a thousand offspring in a single clutch.

It speaks in a garbled mess that other demons cannot understand.

As for its realm, it is as repulsive as Sitos is. visceral, with fleshy, pulsating walls complete with rivulets of blood and pus. Cages made of bone and cartilage where it traps its prey, only for them to become slowly digested by the walls that surround them. Throughout it all, its inhabitants and victims hear the non-stop beating of Sitos’ vile heart that’s situated on the ceiling of a large, cavernous structure that the creature calls home.
