I take way too much pride in myself to mindlessly dwell on when or how success will prevail. The situation that I’m placed in by choice via self regurgitates the hate I feel for those from that place as well.

What’s crazy I spent every year since tryna convince her that I’m not some ghetto halfaway that don’t need make amends with the lack of guidance needed for systemic ways we live from the men we never hear it from because they were never kids.

My friends wasn’t doing what they doing now before they met me.

Most of ‘em move around me like a chess piece tryna check me, like we playing the same game, but sacrificing queens was never a king’s legacy.

Pops told me text before I call. If ain’t nothing popping, probably won’t even talk at all. Moms still afraid to see me fall.
