Observer Cidda + Lithoplotter Sivva
- Photography (Cidda) + Geology (Sivva)
Cidda and Sivva have known each other their entire lives. Given that they’re twins, this is expected. As progeny, they often butted heads, but the space put between them by their differing college choices was enough to bring them back together.
Sivva, being ever so slightly older, had a set of desired employers prepared several months before her Dynamics program concluded. At the top of the list was the Inquest. Their labs near Mount Maelstrom were of particular interest to Sivva, as her specialty was (and is) geology and the active volcano was a prime location for study. Cidda elected for a more practical area of study with Statics - photography. Immediately after graduation, the two were accepted into the Inquest fold, and began work as a team. Field researchers aren’t guaranteed to get along with their documentation specialists, and the Inquest are sensible enough to exploit a natural bond.
Unfortunately for the Inquest, the pair do posses some moral backbone. Cidda is the more outgoing of the two and made friends all throughout their lab, including some who worked in biological sciences. After several weeks, one of them mentioned the experimentation being done on the local hylek, which was most definitely not in any of the recruitment material. She was disgusted, and resigned the next day. Her sister followed suit soon after.
They kept themselves afloat in the months of unemployment through Cidda freelancing with newspapers and other publications in Rata Sum, until one such gig sent her to southern Kryta. The assignment was to gather photographs of a large krewe’s new facility that had just finished construction. In practice, however, most of Cidda’s time was spent being shown around campus by the krewe’s chief. Cidda came home with photographs of the brand new radio telescope and an appointment for formal interviews with Krewe Yukii for both her and her sister.
In their research at the S.P.A.C.E. Krewe, the two often work as a pair, but also find themselves on separate projects occasionally. Sivva has greatly enjoyed being the first to pick apart data from the sounding rockets, both from in-flight as well as seismic after their return to Tyria’s unforgiving surface. As a direct result of her analysis, gravity fluctuations have already been detected, and her team has been busy working on possible interpretations. Cidda and Kovvi have developed an experimental system of transferring complete images wirelessly, with Riika’s assistance, in preparation for Sakki’s next major project: terrestrial photography from orbit.
When not working, Sivva and Cidda share a house in the countryside, a few kilometers north of Grunnur. Cidda is absent fairly regularly, however, due to her frequent overnight stays at Sakki’s apartment. Cidda and Sakki share both a love of high places and a lack of self-preservation, one of the many threads holding them together as romantic partners. Sivva greatly appreciates the precious moments of peace and quiet while her sister is away.
