visiting a friend;

    As Seungcheol made his way to his new friend’s apartment building, a part of him felt confused. Why did he find himself growing close and acquainted with someone outside of the gang? As S.Coups, he always tried to show little regard for those outside of Vanguard, though now he found himself actually caring for Siwon’s well-being. Unlike most in this cruel and unforgiving world, Siwon had shown Seungcheol kindness during a time in which he was in need, and the young hitman wasn’t one to forget.

    About a week ago, following their initial encounter, Siwon was involved in a car accident. Seungcheol had been nearby at the time of the crash, and at first, he was unsure of who had been within the car. Because of this, Seungcheol was going to simply look the other way and carry on with the rest of his day. After all, in his mind, almost each and every soul in this world was corrupted and deserved whatever harm was thrown their way. However, when he realized that the victim of the car crash had been none other than the kind stranger he had met earlier, he had immediately followed the man to the hospital. He would often visit Siwon, making sure that his recovery was going well.

    Once Seungcheol had finally reached the door of Siwon’s apartment, he knocked three times. He hoped that Siwon would be well enough to get to the door, though from what he had seen beforehand, he was sure that his friend would have no issue making his way over. Hopefully his friend wouldn’t mind an unexpected visit, because Seungcheol simply couldn’t help himself. Siwon was one of the good people of this world. He had shown Seungcheol kindness, and because of this, the young man was going to do everything in his power to make sure that he was okay.

“I feel woozy.”

His hand reaches out and he slips his hand and arm around the others back to support him in case he were to randomly topple over and cause himself harm. A  frown grows on his features before he lets out a soft sigh clearly concerned about the man who had once helped him out. “Wanna lie down? That might help to make you feel better.” a small smile soon replaces his frowning face and before long he can feel himself chuckling. “Kinda funny how I’m helping you out in return for helping me.” It was true it was like he was returning the favour and evening the score between the two- something that made him feel good deep down and he liked it very much.

13. “I don’t think your arm is meant to bend like that…”

Luhan studied the other’s expression, highlighting and underlining the most beautiful parts. Siwon was his most cherished piece of literature — he was so easy to read, no ambiguity or cliffhangers. So, he chuckled, almost in dismissal. “Does it freak you out?” Based on his dim memories from childhood, some of his joints had always possessed a certain degree of hypermobility. It was an interesting party trick. Still amused, he relaxed his arm to ease the other’s dismay. “If you’re going to react like that, I’m not sure if you’ll want to see anything more.”

19. “So, instead of helping you, they ran off the moment they saw what was happening?”

Basically. This was conveyed with a dismissive shrug, picking at a loose thread on his sleeve. Siwon’s bottomless innocence and purity was off-putting at times. If Luhan even alluded to his secret life, he knew that he would lose everything. Siwon couldn’t handle it. This tiny story was a test, and the boy had lost. Truthfully, it was more than a brief confrontation past midnight, and Luhan got away with much less than a stolen wallet and phone — but that probably seemed like the greatest evil possible to the other. Luhan had never been mugged — not of physical belongings, at least.

27. “How could you be so careless?”

The puddle of dark coffee on the kitchen floor swelled up with time, crawling over the unmarred tiles. “I was trying to make you breakfast!” Luhan explained defensively, although he was secretly snickering as the other fretted over the mess. By breakfast, he generously meant pouring Siwon a cup of coffee. Apparently, Luhan was a klutz. He shuffled closer with a sorry pout on his face, somewhat leaning into the taller man. “I’ll make it up to you, okay?”

43. “Pain is the only thing I’m familiar with.”

Serious subjects rarely dawned on their conversations. So, Luhan assumed that the other was messing around. “Same,” he responded dryly, his tight smile not reaching his eyes. Siwon was always cheerful and bright around him, and he couldn’t fathom anything else. In the end, he knew he would hurt his unsuspecting victim, and the thought twisted his insides. It was almost excruciating. Almost. Luhan wondered if it would hurt himself more in the end, and he believed that would serve as a fair penalty when it came.

4 & 27

4. “You’re saying this was an accident?”27. “How could you be so careless?”

on one hand, seokjin wasn’t usually very clumsy. his feet, particularly, could be relied on to do lots of things: in his younger days it made sure the ball went in the goal, and these days it was keeping him upright and moving quickly to keep up with the demands of his current life. 

on the other hand, however, the floor had been slippery, and seokjin made the mistake of walking too quickly while wearing shoes that weren’t supposed to be worn in the kitchen (his last-season ferragamo oxfords, no less). it got him the bruise on abdomen that siwon had seen when seokjin took off his sweater as it rode up a little. 

at least, this was the excuse he allowed himself to tell when siwon asked. he couldn’t very well say he got it from being in a scuffle.

“it’s fine, siwon. you know how slippery the kitchen floor can be sometimes.” he smiled, and leaned back in his chair. “are you really that worried?”

❝ black and white

Thump, thump, thump. The steady beat of his heart and the commotion inside were one, and Luhan could not decipher between the two. Maybe it was the rush of thick blood in his ears, or maybe it was the warmth of his date beside him — whatever it was, the man was disoriented. A film seemed to splay over his vital senses. No matter how fervently he swallowed or blinked, it stuck. Something felt off — and he hated himself for the level of vague this statement broke. He was no psychic. Something was bound to happen with the scum from each separate lousy batch congregated in an enclosed space. Luhan could almost feel the slime seeping through his tuxedo when he imaged how many members of rival gangs were brushing against him so carelessly. Subtly, he pressed in closer to Siwon.

Kwon Siwon was something else. Normally, Luhan accompanied these events as an ornament, paid to please. Besides, the only big-shots that could afford the reputation to receive an invitation were wielding some serious dirt on their peers. As sweet as gossip was, he had a feeling Siwon would be even tastier. If innocence had a face, this individual would be the one to wear it. Whenever they were together, the purity that radiated from Siwon fostered a bundle of warmth within Luhan, and he liked it. Normally, his efforts to preserve his identity were minimal. When compared to the recent happenings, his doings weren’t that illegal. In fact, he operated in a field of petty crime when placed beside a murderer. Yet, when placed beside Siwon, he was the murderer.

Somehow, they migrated to the perimeter of the crowd, because he was unsure about what his partner was comfortable with. “I have a feeling this is your first time at something like this,” Luhan guessed through a smile, feeling his cheeks push up against the mask. When he had picked the other up, his tongue had been tied. Complimenting Siwon on his appearance seemed pointless, because him and the whole world knew how goddamn dashing he was. It always made Luhan chuckle nervously, like right now. “Uh— So, thanks for coming with me.”

49 & 32

49) “Has anyone told you you have amazing eyes?”

The words come as a slight shock to the system. He’s usually fairly confident in his response to flirtatious behaviour but when you’ve worked a nine hour shift without any breaks, that sort of ignorance tends to take solace instead of fatigue. Not wanting to show his slightly flustered demeanour, he flashed a cocky smile towards him and tipped his head to the side. “Siwon-ssi, I have, thank you. My wife is a big fan of my eyes.” A single man at best, he didn’t mind tossing a lie where it need be. He wasn’t quite sure if ‘platonic flirting’ was something that could happen but that was the only justification in his mind on why Siwon was behaving like this. Patients tend to depend a little more on their doctors so it’s not behaviour he hasn’t seen before, it’s just a little surprising when it does happen. After taking his chart from the holder at the end of the bed, he scanned through the file and flicked through the papers. “You’ve got cranial trauma from a blunt instrument. Mind telling me what happened?” 

32) “Take one more step and I’m going to shoot!”

Well. It’s not often someone takes a nurse hostage in your local ward. Of course they go through thorough checks and even the medical examination requires them to empty all pockets, but when the doctor leaves the room to just retrive the dosage he needs to inject the other with he’s met with a hostile man whose aimed the gun towards Nurse Cho’s temple. The female, clearly over come with emotion, was sobbing hysterically as she was caught in a headlock from Siwon. Oh. It’s something he watches on with a bemused smirk as he leans back to press the ‘security’ buzzer and just to make sure it didn’t look like it, he closed the door behind himself. “Siwon-ssi, if you didn’t want an injection, theres one available in pill form.” The mild teasing wasn’t quite met well with the nurse who gave him a glare because jokes? At this hour? So he raised his hands up in playful defeat, beginning to put the injection down onto the tray. “Honestly, you kids..” It’s in a sudden movement he rips the tray from it’s holding and smacks it harshly across Siwon’s head, tugging the nurse away from his weakened hold. “Go, go!” When she’s clear out of sight from the ward, he bends down and smiles at him. “Aren’t you a cute criminal.. Say, Siwon, has anyone told you that you’ve got amazing eyes?” It’s a question he asks while injecting a sedative into his arm.

32. "Take one more step and I’m going to shoot!”

“woah woah! Its me the guy you helped the other day.” he had a box of chocolates and some money as a thank you gift towards the other. He wasn’t sure what he liked and stuff so just guessed and prayed it was enough to say thank you. “The door was open so i just came in I’m so sorry!” his hands were risen as if trying to say he was un-armed and innocent in it - which he was.

49. “Has anyone told you you have amazing eyes?”

“Are you trying to hit on me sir?” he blinked a few times to the odd comment. It was nice to get a compliment like that but at the same time it was insanely weird. Not to mention the other probably could see his eyes properly from his height. After all he was a tall mofo. “Because if you are, i might just flirt back.” he teased, adding a wink in afterwards.

8, 24 & 49

“Does it hurt when I touch it?”

"touch what -- ow!” she pulls her arm away from him, twisting it to see where he had just poked, and oh. that’s what he was talking about. a medium-sized blue and black bruise on her upper arm that she didn’t realize was there. her eyes narrowing and her eyebrows furrowing, she tries to remember any time of the day that would have resulted in her bruising on the arm, but her mind draws to a blank. “to answer your question, yeah, it does hurt when you touch it.”

“I’ve got some bandages, wait a sec.”

she simply nods as he runs off to get the bandages, hurriedly running the open wound on her finger under running water, applying pressure on the wound to control the bleeding. hyerin isn’t accident-prone, nor does she have a hard time multitasking, but having her use sharp objects and have them dangerously near her fingers while talking is going to end badly. she winces slightly at the pain as she puts pressure on the wound, looking around to see where he was. at the sight of the man rushing in, a box of bandaids in his hand, she lets out a sigh of relief. “come on, hurry up!”

“Has anyone told you you have amazing eyes?”

hyerin feels a blush creeping up onto her cheeks, her lips forming a shy smile before she quickly covers it with her hands, letting out a soft laugh. it takes her a short moment to will the blush away from her cheeks and the shy smile away from her lips. she didn’t normally hear compliments like that, especially ones out of the blue. she lets out a small cough, to try and calm her face and emotions down, before replying. “no... no one has told me.”
