Now that the AUS video with the principals in character has been out for around 30 minutes, what are you thoughts on the costumes? Everything seems pretty new except for Mia's skirt and maybe Lorinda's costume.
Also: I LOVE how the AUS Boleyn costumes are made, they look great, but I feel like they still haven't figured Cleves and Parr out yet.

So of course the one day AUS posts at not weird hours for america (continent) is the day I need to go to bed early because I will have a very intense work thing the following day. Cool.
Anyway, lets talk about good and bad costume reusing, some things improving, some becoming worse, weird alterations, mysterious boots and AUS somehow not beating the curse of having a wild costume mix.
I made this all with both current and previous cast because I feel the comparison is important despite not all of them having reused costume pieces.
From what I can see in the video, Mia does seem to have Deirdre's skirt, Angela might have Chelsea's altered skirt, Lauren has Chiara's skirt but not top, Geena has Gabriella's costume, Thalia and Cristina same costumes as last time with new boots at least for Thalia. The rest there seems to be all new with some things being made using the patterns from the last tour as base.
Quick thoughts is. Good costumes for Mia, Cara, Angela, Lorinda and Thalia. Including Thalia's pants not having a weird curve between the black and orange at the center anymore. Parr was the biggest improvement from last time even if the sleeves still feel a little empty (same as silver). They also seem to have figured out peplum structures which is a big win. Cara has what I think is the first US style corset not made in the US, and it is beautiful, genuinely one of the best corsets ever. There are some weird proportions going on with C but overall its not terrible.
And then in the middle of all the good things there is a recurring issue with how things are fit around the chest. Sarah and Lauren both have bad wrapping on their tops. I think it is a mix of too long and too wide around the chest and shoulders and that wasn't an issue with the previous costumes. Kadesa's jacket has something going on with the shape of the jacket lines and it is not the worst but also those lines are not even. For Geena they altered Gabriella's top, made it shorter and took it in, but in that it got some weird curves on the central panel and more wrapping on the underbust, the tops are meant to be altered on the sides not the center, and this alreration looks bad.
And Cristina is somehow still wearing Zara's costume. Just look at the side by side, that costume was past the point where they retire costumes before Zara left the cast, and it is not getting better. Vinyl looks dull, everything is wrinkled or wrapped, the skirt is barely holding on. I don't know why they are still allowed to use it onstage.
As for Cristina's boots. Tinfoil hats on everyone. I have a wild theory.
Her boots are the old ones which she wears at the end, and on the video they posted before (so anytime it is not just her being filmed). But during the turns she is wearing someone else's boots, specifically Thalia's with her pink straps. And the rest is vfx.
For those videos the background was mapped to add the text and make everything purple. The way things look doesn't feel like there is just purple lighting, which we saw in the fake documentary promo and it wasn't nearly as consistent. They also colored the platform purple digitally, if it was light the boots would reflect it. After all that editing work boots are not that hard. The rhinestones on Cristina's boots are very grey, not pink as in UK boots. You can take a photo or video of orange boots, make them greyscale and add a blueish purple filter and you will end up with a pretty solid match to Cristina's.
Top row is Cristina's boots, and the ones she wears on the first part of the video, bottom is Thalia's new boots whichI'm pretty sure match the heel layout of the studded boots Cristina wears. And Thalia's boots after two minutes in photoshop playing with color masks. It is not a perfect match but it is pretty close and I was working with a blurry screenshot. With raw video and a vfx program magic can happen.
Also I'm sure it is Cristina's straps because those are annoying in that the pattern is not even on both sides, and its definitely not Thalia's straps.
