I walked the same halls, listened to many of the same lectures, and attended Friday night worship known as BSCF with this resourceful, hilarious and super talented woman. Back then I had no idea that she would become the inspiration that she has become to me and so many others. She has overcome and prevailed in radio which is one of the MOST cut throat, competitive, and downright male dominated arena’s. She STANDS heads and shoulders ABOVE the rest in intellect, guts, and talent! What I love about her the most is her FEARLESSNESS to speak her mind no matter the topic! I felt moved to write this post because she singlehandedly PULLED me out of a massive DARK hole I dug myself into emotionally. I was questioning my purpose, my career goals, my life in general seemed to make ZERO sense to those who “claim” to have my best interest at heart. She remained me that I can’t allow the thoughts and perspective of NON FACTOR people to counteract the mission that I feel God has ordained for me to walk in. Just the fact that she allowed me to vent without judgment meant the world to me. So I just wanted to acknowledge this QUEEN publicly because she’s the definition of BLACK GIRL MAGIC! Not only has she built her career in radio BRICK by BRICK but she also mentors girls who want to follow in her footsteps in radio. She is a one woman band. She’s a radio host, event host, brand ambassador, sought after panelist moderator, Podcast creator and Red Carpet Celebrity interviewer and I’m sure I’m leaving out something because she’s THAT Chick!
