I loved @macrolit.books new tag #sixthatsuck and decided to play along. I think it's supposed to be books that everyone loves but you hate but I decided to do the worst 6 books I've read since joining #bookstagram. Oddly enough, 3 were buddy reads with @drumminonthecover. (Hope you don't mind @finnishthosebooks, but I stole your idea of the cardboard book for the one I don't own 😉) ~ ⛪To a God Unknown ⛪ Love everything Steinbeck but hated this one. I think he was still trying to figure things out when he wrote it. So full of obvious symbolism and it makes no sense. ~ 🔥 Doctor Faustus 🔥 This book could have been 100 pages instead of 700+. ~ 👂Adjustment Day 👂 Disjointed with too many characters, repetition and loose ends. ~ 📍 Find Me 📍 Repetitive and obvious on the whole complete with manic pixie dream girl trope, unnatural monologues, and constant spelling of everything out. ~ 💰 Money 💰 Just no. ~ 💡 Everything is illuminated 💡 Everything was not illuminated.
