Everything feels cold. Everything is cold.
Even the occasional embrace she receives from her mother—only when the rest of the village isn’t looking of course.
She’s ‘the Halfling girl’.
The girl that’s too powerful for one group but not powerful enough for the other.
The only one of her kind, as far as she’s aware.
Halflings like her just don’t happen. It’s not a thing.
Elves and witches just don’t go together.
She’s taken out of Selance two times a month so her father can help her learn her magic.
He has the power of ice; he’s always so cold.
Being caught in one of his embraces is like being hugged by a block of ice.
Or maybe it just feels that way because she has the power of fire.
Maybe everything just feels so cold because she runs warmer than most anyone else.
