Last night's conversations with my 6-year old nephew, SJ, while we were driving home: SJ: What's that? Is that a dead-end? Me: Yes. SJ: We can't go there because we're gonna die coz its a DEAD end! Me: Of course not. Dead End means the road is closed. So one has to turn back and find another way. SJ: Why? Why are there dead ends? I don't want to go there, it's so scary!!! Coz we're gonna die like Apple (our beagle dog) if we go there. Hahahaha!!! Me: Hahaha people don't die if they go to a dead end. They die because they get sick or if they went into an accident. SJ: Ohhh like Apple and Papa (Grandpa)? I know why Apple died. My mom told me. But where did she go? Me: She is now in doggie heaven. SJ: Ohhh I know that place, that's where we go to visit Papa, right?? Me: Uhmmm... Yes... Hahahahaha (SJ thinks Doggie Heaven is the same as Heavens Gate Memorial Park) ------- Me: Why are you so cute? SJ: Because I'm using my mind, that's why I'm so cute... Me: Ohh wow. Really? Is that so? SJ: Yes. I always use my mind that's why I'm cute... But whenever I'm in school, I start to lose my mind. School makes me lose my mind! Me: School makes you lose your mind?!? SJ: Yes...?!
