The kitties are settling in nicely ❤️
Sjors has been laying on my desk pretty much all day today. I’m not sure why, but apparently he thought that my pencil case would be a comfortable spot to hide his paws in🤣😂.
Puck is still very much afraid and does nothing without her big brother, but as soon as the sun sets she gets out of her hiding place. She’ll come for a treat and some pets and lay on a blankie
I’m almost 43 and I had cats for over 40 years. When my Pongo passed away about 2 years ago, I never wanted a new cat again. This was Pongo.
BUT, as any crazy cat lady and crazy cat dude will know: there is no such thing as not having a cat.
Coming home in an empty house became awful to me and I started petting every streetcat that I could find, sometimes my own life was at risk. Because some cats will pretend to be all sweet and purry, and the moment that you want to pet them they become evil, vicious butchers.
To make a long story not even longer: I decided to adopt a cat. That was my new year’s resolution and so the journey begins. I started checking out local shelters, but their adoptable cats either needed to be able to go outside (which is not possible in my house) or were old with medical problems. And being on a somewhat tight budget where there IS financial room for vet visits, there just is no room for regular returning vet costs. Then I went to a Dutch website called marketplace (our equivalent to craigslist) and responded to 4 ads, none of the individuals answered my messages. So I got really discouraged.
Then one of my friends added me to a Facebook group for adoption pets and there was a lady that couldn’t keep the 2 cats she had, because her dog kept attacking them. I responded immediately and now I’m going to pick up these cuties in a couple of hours!😍. I’m SO nervous but just look at these furballs
This is Puck (formerly known as Simba)
And this is Mister Sjors (formerly known as Bentley. Also: Sjors would be the Dutch pronunciation of George)
I guess I’m just happy that my house won’t be as quiet anymore❤️
Trigan Empire cover for Sjors No. 14 (1971) by Bert Bus. Bus is probably best known to British comic fans for creating new “Robot Archie” stories for the Dutch market, also for Sjors
https://www.catawiki.com/en/l/99897088
The cover is a scene from the 13th “Trigan Empire” story, “Voyage to the Moon Bolus”
aka “The Invasion of Bolus”, most recently reprinted in Rebellion’s “The Rise and Fall of the Trigan Empire” Volume One
I think I've bitten off more than I can chew with this project. So Robot Archie appeared in the first issue of Lion in 1952 in a strip called "The Jungle Robot". 5 years later he reappears in "Archie The Robot Explorer". The third story begins in November 1957 "The Mystery of the Veiled Arab". This story is the first one to appear in Sjors in 1959, colourised and reprinted in book form. My brain tells me I can "simply" replace the text with the original English to get a colourised English version. After an hour with just the first page (but that does include the title header) I'm beginning to see the epic mountain!
People act as though their sexual desires are more important than respecting people. Its disgusting. There are places to go for that bullshit, and fetish or not, you still have to respect people. Gee, I wonder why his last account was deleted.
Another creep who thinks women exist to get him off and satisfy his fetishes and kinks. Boring.
