Cleaning up a scanned page using an old Serif Photoplus X3 program. The original scanner has done a fabulous job of restoring the page already.

The page looks good but as you zoom in you notice faint marks, and ink from the reverse of the page. Using the remove colour option, zoom into an area of the picture. Lighten to white but only have a few colour tolerance (about 4-5) which will lighten similar coloured marks. Happy? Save. Unhappy? Undo and remake adjustment.

Sometimes the ink is faded or the scan a poorer quality. The black point option darkens the inked areas and can help restore quality to the image.

REMEMBER: IF YOU ARE UNSURE, MAKE A COPY FIRST AND IF IT GOES WRONG, YOU HAVE THE ORIGINAL AND HAVEN'T LOST IT!
