Oi! Today we celebrate 23 years of our Moon Ska Records album “No Dancing Please!” Released 7-22-97. What the? Random Fun Facts: Recorded at a studio space formerly owned by Neil Young (located across from @goldenroadbrewery - and at a house in Silver Lake) - @rockeryeric & IIreno of Reggae Nucleus Mag stopped by during one session,) engineered & produced by Matthias Schneeberger who worked with metal legends The Obsessed, and was the sound engineer for Nirvana’s first Euro tour.) We couldn’t get started without bringing him a 12-pack of the darkest beer we could find (a German thing?) Fun guy 👍🏽. Percussionist Marcos Reyes brought in Latin jazz legend Victor Pantoja (Willie Bobo, Malo) to play on “Ain’t That Right” and “Spanish Grease.” He jammed with a bottle of brandy at his feet and was a blast to be around, cover art by @marlonhightower 🎨. Shout out to Moon Ska jefe Buck Hingley of @toastersnyc for bringing us Bakersfield musicos on board during the skrazy third wave. During the quarantine, the good memories are helping keep us sane until we can play live again!! Everybody be safe, wear a mask, be good humans, and GO DANCING PLEASE! ***Available for stream and download at Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, Google Play, Youtube, or find a print copy from US, UK, or Brazil on EBay, Amazon, and beyond. Thank You for all the years of dancing support. Cheers amigos! 😎👍🏽 . . . . #mentoburu #thirdwaveska #bakersfield #bakersfieldmusic #skamixtape #moonska #ska #skacd #latinska #victorpantoja #mathiasschneeberger #californiaska #1997 (at Bakersfield, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CC8syS4gQiy/?igshid=1xs6guympac6c
