Six Sentence Sunday... I'm not sure if I'm able to count anymore.
So... as promised, I've started working on the UKvstW project; it already has a name, a skeleton, and I've started drafting the first episode, still inconclusive, but at least moving forward.
Then, here it is, the first glimpse of "A Beautiful Life."
======
Some memories stayed small. Others didn’t.
Like the day the twins’ dad gave them his credit card with a distracted, “Get whatever you want, girls,” before disappearing back into a car with tinted windows. The four of them took a train to the shopping centre and bought far too much—shoes they didn’t need, matching hair clips, pointless glittery notebooks. They ended up in a Burger King booth surrounded by bags, trays, and teenage chaos.
Kate and Zahirah shared a milkshake without noticing they were doing it. Zahirah laughed at something Kate said and leaned in far too close. Kate pushed her fringe back at least three times, even though it didn’t need pushing.
They flirted without knowing that’s what it was—silly smiles, knees bumping under the table, a kind of electricity that made the air around them fizz.
Sminty slammed her chips on the table. “For God’s sake,” she announced loudly, “will you two just get a room?”
Kate went scarlet. Zahirah nearly dropped her burger.
Gothy didn’t even look up from her nuggets. “Stop being an arse, Callie Jo. They won’t kiss just to entertain you. They’ll kiss whenever they want.”
There was a heartbeat of stunned silence. The implication landed softly and loudly at the same time.
Kate stared down at her tray. Zahirah hid half her face behind her hair.
Neither denied it.
After that, whatever existed between them grew in the small spaces—late‑night texts about absolutely nothing, stolen glances during assemblies, walking home together even when curfew time passed, and neither of them was ready to end the day. Not a defined relationship, not yet, but something lived there. Something warm and private and theirs.
