Viking: Battle for Asgard, first impressions

The game makes me think of a more "mature" (and by "mature" I mean "Viking smash all the things!") Legend of Zelda. It even has a glowing blue thing that follows you everywhere. Granted, in this case it's a divine amulet granted by Freya. Because all gods need an enchanted object of some sort, to aid in a quest they're going to thrust upon some poor sod who probably didn't want it in the first place. Also smash ALL THE VASES! Also also, for some reason the locals seem to love reminding me of the protagonist's name. Every line of dialogue is generously peppered with "Skarin". Thanks guys, but I'm pretty sure I know who this guy is. Unless they're saying it for Skarin's own benefit. He's probably been hit on the head a few times throughout his life, so who the fuck knows? The visuals are pretty, though, and the opening sequence was a nice graphic novel style thing that looked pretty damned sweet. /rambling
