ACTUALLY I love character exploration and I could use the distraction so let’s get into the Why’s on Molly’s views on the possessiveness and why she likes ot up to a toxic stand point.

SO.

Starting off Molly is already actually used to this concept platonically/familial. With Angelo he is very possessive over Molly and we have even discussed Angelo is essentially the Mother Gothel to her Rapunzel because he wants to literally lock her up in her room to keep her safe and away from harm because he cares and loves her so much. While Molly normally rebels and hates this smothering of his, if he ever stopped she’d be lost and hurt and want him to come back like stockholm syndrome.

Such possessiveness over her shows he cares to an alarming degree. Even if she doesn’t stay put or like it, it’s his way of showing how much he loves her.

Tack on to also how I imagine Henroin to have been very dictating over what Molly was ever allowed to do. It’s why she knew she’d never go to a hospital to become a proper nurse because daddy said no. There’s SO MUCH stuff Molly wanted to do and wish she could do but her father didn’t want her to. In a way it was his way of showing ‘care’ for her because he wants her close and safe with the family.

Now, in plenty of Molly’s relationships she’s been abused, cheated on, taken from granted, and just generally not treated very nice. SO When it comes to romantic partners who have such a possessive hold over her. Who call her THEIRS and threatens anyone who tries to get TOO close to her shows they have that ‘guard dog’ sort of personality that Molly LOVES and craves, as such a thing is something she’s used to growing up with in a mafia family.

She wants to be put on a pedestal, to be adored and loved and treated such. And in her eyes being treated like practically an object to be owned is what she sort of perceives as real love! Molly, now, in the same vein can be very much like this with her partners. She IS possessive, easily jealous and bitey when feeling threatened by someone else’s time with her s/o, and very much sees the other person as ‘hers and hers alone’.

Honestly all Molly’s ever known in her life is toxic and bad relationships, so her experiencing a happy and fully healthy relationship is something very new to her and in her own way can also be toxic and overwhelming herself if not careful and unchecked yk.

i've never witnessed anyone write any chraracter as well as u write cersei. she at this point, for me and for so many people i believe, is alive WITH u. ur connection is unlike anything i've seen, i've never seen someone do a character such impeccable justice, ur incomparable understanding of her shows through every word of every sentence you write, be it threads or metas. you ARE her and u've completely solidified words in a book into a full real human, complex and deep but so well explored
