*slides in* if i may suggest something, dragons are always fun, and if you wanna get extra with it, add anything you want. Wanna make it eldritch? Go for it!! Wanna play with undeath? Skele-dragon. Wanna join in on MerMay? Sea dragon!
Ooooo I like the way you think! I’m especially a sucker for skeleton creatures so here’s some stuff for a Skele-Dragon!
-Usually only the strongest of necromancers can reanimate the bones of a dragon. It takes a great deal of power that can leave one’s magic utterly spent for several hours.
-Whether revitalized by light or dark magic, skele-dragons are usually erratic, cold, and distant once they’ve awakened, as they remain bitter about their death and will immediately seek out the force(s) that have slain them.
-With their flesh and skin gone they can’t fly, although they can leap great distances and can descend at extreme heights without shattering any bones.
-Their bones are held together with invisible magic, allowing them to move as if they have muscle.
-Their glowing eyes and “heart” (the light in their ribcage) are an indication of what type of magic possesses them.
-Whenever they eat, even though they don’t need to, the light in their ribs will dissolve the substance instantly, leaving no traces of it.
-While skele-dragons can still roar, growl, etc. they’ll often rattle their bones to communicate with someone or a fellow dragon.
-They still retain whatever elemental breath they’ve had prior to their death, but with an added aura of the necromancer’s magic surrounding each breath.
-As time goes on, they’ll become more gentle to humans who respect them and their necromancer (who they refer to as “Master” for a period of time).
-They will also learn how to speak for themselves, make their own choices, and go back to guarding treasures and defending towns (in the case of “light” skele-dragons) or terrorizing villages (”dark” skele-dragons). Usually a necromancer’s influence on them won’t last very long.
[Romance]
-A skele-dragon would express their interest in you the same way as any other dragon would, usually by kidnapping you and presenting you with treasures they’ve been guarding.
-But the only difference is how painfully shy and ashamed they feel for having such emotions, believing they are unlovable because they are merely bones.
-They’d show affection by happy grumbles, excited bone rattling, and nuzzling the top of your head.
-Even though it’s difficult to provide you warmth, they’ll still curl around you and use their magic to keep you safe and comfortable. Sometimes they’ll show vulnerability and allow you to warm them up.
-Whether it be a small fire or your gloved hands rubbing their snout, they love it all the same.
-Pet names include “my love”, “treasure”, and “little one”.
-People who insult you and them are given the name “fleshbags”.
-They love it when you pet them all over, not minding the fact that they will no longer have their shimmering scales, beautiful eyes, and gracious wings.
-Regardless of what the skele-dragon thinks of themselves, you always show them the utmost love, admiration, and support
