Hey! I’m sorry I missed your q and a episode, but I think I have a pretty important question. Not to seem to proud or something, but I think I come up with great ideas to use in DnD, both as a player and dm. However, I always choke up in actual play. It’s not that I get nervous, I’m just terrible at executing my ideas. I’m terrible at playing characters; their planned personality completely changes when they come into play. Impressive moments in the story just fall flat when they (1/2)
actually occur. tl;dr I’m great at planning things in DnD but I’m absolutely terrible at the execution. Do you guys have any suggestions and or tips to help me, as either a player or dm? (2/2)
Hey! This is a really great question thank you!! I asked the rest of the dames what they think about this and we all agree that probably our best advice is to just not over think how things are going to go so much.
In my experience, some of the best moments in a campaign are never planned in advance, and while it’s always good to have an idea of what you want your character to be like or how you want the story to go, sometimes you just have to let it unfold in the moment. Try not to get so attached to the idea of things going a certain way with your character or campaign and things will probably start to go a lot smoother!
