How Skeletons celebrate Christmas, Part 1

The skeletons and I took a couple of pictures while we were celebrating Christmas.

I got some presents for them to open.

The two on the side were for all of them to enjoy together, but these three were for them individually.

Saturday was too impatient to wait and began opening their present immediately.

It was a set of flowers for their room!

They told me they like it.

Now that they had their own present, Saturday was curious about the others.

They all decided September should open his present next.

I also got him something for his room, in his case a decorative sea shell.

He was very happy with it.

Now it was Summer’s turn.

She started out opening the present carefully, but then she became impatient too.

When she saw her own pink sea shells, she howled with joy.

Now they all wanted to know what was in the other packages...

How Skeletons celebrate Christmas, Part 2

After opening their individual presents, it was time for the skeletons to open the ones I had gotten for all of them together.

They found it easier to be patient after opening their own presents, so they started with the smaller one.

September got to open it, since he was sitting in the middle. It was a set of playing cards for their own size!

They thought about playing a round, but September insisted on opening all the presents first.

So after that, it was finally time for the big present.

This one they all opened together.

This time, it was a piece of decoration for their entryway!

They all gave me a hug as a thank you after unwrapping all their presents...

...but since it had been a long evening, it ended with them falling asleep on my hand.

I put them to bed and cleaned up the tiny mess for them. Normally I would have them do it themselves, but... it was Christmas, after all.

Hey September. I just found this blog about you and love your new little sweater. I was wondering if you still sleep in your tissue bed or if you've found or made a new one. Also, do skeletons sleep a lot?

Ah, yes. About that tissue bed… September insists on using the same kinds of items I use. He doesn’t want special doll furniture or anything. So I had to get a little creative.

Look, I want to show you something.

I found this little sponge I thought we could use as a bed for you.

What do you think?

Soft enough?

I take that as a yes.

Let’s cover it with some snuggly fabric then. Sleeping on a bare sponge is not very comfy.

How neat you are. That looks very good, doesn’t it?

I don’t know about other skeletons. But September sure sleeps a lot…
