Maybe if you weren't such a sketchy douche I wouldn't accuse you of shit all the time.
In our strange modern era, where the sports pages read like the business section, and the business section reads like the sports pages, we can forget what draws us to a ball game. Is it how much, or as in the A's case, how little is spent on ball players? Probably not. Do we enjoy reading about how a stadium lease agreement was turned down by a ball club? Absolutely not. Is it the food at the concession stands? Hell no! The reason why we go to a baseball game, is because of the gentle old man pictured above. He sat a few rows in front of me at the last game I went to. He must have been 70 years old. He pawed at and tapped his glove with unrestrained glee whenever there was a man in scoring position. His gaze darted to the scoreboard between pitches. He was a child. His only thoughts and actions, were to serve his enjoyment of a game his body could no longer play. We are all taken back to some spring in our past when we watch baseball. Whenever you read about some bad news, please take in a ball game as soon as possible. The old man and his glove knows why.
Sketch Ball is back! Hope everyone had a great off season. I won't be able to make it to the opening series this week, so I am posting the long lost drawing from a sketch book that started the whole project. I thought I would never find it! Here is the update on the comic: I continue to live up to the broke artist cliché, and find it difficult to gather the funds needed to self-publish the comic. I have received so much support and enthusiasm for this project that it blows my mind! I am doing my best to produce the finest baseball art y'all and ask for a little patience. So, lets settle into our seats at the Coliseum, your local bar, or in your underwear at home, and take part in another amazing season of Oakland baseball!
I would like to wish my Uncle Rob a Happy 50th Birthday! He is probably the most knowledgable baseball fan I know. He always has great stories about the game and, very "colorful" descriptions of Giants fans. A true Oakland A's fan!
