How do you contain a force of nature on paper?

a little drawing struggle rant under the cut

I struggled with this (which is obvious in how I rendered it) because I wasn't sure how it'll come off with inked lines. Tried it with ballpen, didn't work. So I covered it up with white ink and off-white gouache (a mistake).

I told myself not to be afraid to fail. And fail, I did. I'm not too disappointed with how it turned out, though - even if it is overworked. (^_^;)
