summary:  There are a few things Yang knows for sure: nothing beats a fresh snowfall; all skiers are total nerds; her sister has never done anything wrong in her entire life; and every single time Blake Belladonna smiles at her, she feels like she’s at the top of her favorite slope, heart in her throat, board hanging over the edge. (She also knows that, someday soon, she’s going to have to do something about that last one.)

Ugh bro, yes. Those family feelings - exploring all the different types of platonic relationships that exist within Team RWBY - is like, my very favorite thing to see in fic (or in the show... please show.... please). Like, I think there’s something really beautiful about all the ways people feel love and how everyone expresses it a little differently too. The freezerbro relationship is my very favorite example of that, obviously, but there isn’t a single pair that I don’t want to see more interactions between. Glad I’m not the only one!

The new chapter of YAMFOG is incredible! I was all giddy and soft and full of heart-eyes and then RUINED at the end. Pleeeeeease tell me the angst is short-lived and a happy ending is in sight! Credit to you for making a story this fantastic, I am so invested (to the point of stressing about your wonderful Bees).

hfshdjk thank you so much, anon. I guess I can say this much: there are only two chapters left and there will definitely be a happy ending because I would rather die than write a sad one. lol. So, no need to stress! It’ll all be good. 

I think my favorite part of AUs is how people reinterpret canon events without replicating them entirely. I think authors can hit the same beats without following the exact same formula of: Blake and Yang meet, they get close, Adam hurts Yang, Blake runs away for a long time, Blake and Yang eventually come back together. So yeah, I was really interested in exploring how both 1) Yang being hurt before she met Blake and 2) Yang being conscious when Blake does finally think about running would affect things. In this case, it means less angst. lol.

Blake doesn’t text. She doesn’t hear from her at all. 

Given all that, Yang feels she’s perfectly justified in her shock when Ruby shows up to their Friday family dinner with Blake in tow, Ruby’s wide smile and Blake’s blank face giving nothing away.

(Yang had known Ruby would come back with something that wasn’t on her shopping list, but she’d only prepared herself for something like triple-stuffed Oreos.)
