My new single "STAR" is now out for free download through Japanese net labels sKILLupper and Maltine Records. Both two very amazing digital labels who wish to push the boundaries of net art. It contains remixes from an amazing roster of net label artists, as well as remixes of the artwork itself!
This is a sort of "in-between" song for me. It leaves off a bit where LUST finished, but isn't quite indicative of my next full-length album either. This may find itself on a small EP with other songs that stand in a similar vein, but for right now this song stands by itself within its own world. It's the first MEISHI SMILE song I've ever had my real voice on and I find it to be a much more objectively dark song altogether.
The theme behind this song is guilt and engaging in something within in your life with which you want to move on from. It's about refusing to come to terms with those feelings and inevitably projecting that frustration onto yourself and others and becoming an ugly shell of yourself. It's about isolating yourself to the point where you enter a relentless void in which you only know, about looking at the distance knowing that a feeling exists far beyond what you can see, but for now it's unattainable.

My single STAR is being released in collaboration with sKILLupper x Maltine Records on October 11th, 2014.
In celebration of the release, 2.5D will be holding a live show featuring Gigandect, Miii, Carpainter and Hercelot and myself broadcasting from Skype in America w/ live painting by Tokiya Sakba. This will be a very "Internet" event, so be sure to catch it!
