I bought this thinking it was a well-formulated AHA-powered cream for your face similar to the Dr. Gross Alpha Beta Exfoliating Moisturizer. Only in a 10 oz / 300 ml jumbo size! Two things in my own defense. One. No where in the product name does it say anything about the body. This huge Skinfix treatment is called “Resurface+ AHA Renewing Cream clinically proven to smooth dry, rough, bumpy skin and keratosis pilaris.” (Kerato-what?!) As a skincare copywriter, I gotta say — if it’s for the body that needs to be in the name! Two. The ingredient list is amazing. Skinfix products seem to be quite well-formulated. In the top 10 are several superb replenishing non-fragrant plant oils like Coconut Oil, Shea Butter and Olus Oil — an oil of 100% vegetable origin made from a blend of natural triglycerides. There are another dozen plant oils and antioxidant extracts in it — plus humectants Glycerin and Aloe Leaf Juice. Natural AHAs and BHAs derived from Sugar Cane Extract, Sugar Maple Extract, Orange Fruit Extract and Willow Bark Extract are at a solid level and should provide a good degree of exfoliation. Now, back to that kera-thing! Siri says, “Keratosis pilaris is a common, harmless skin condition. It causes small, hard bumps that may make your skin feel like sandpaper. The bumps are often light-colored. They usually appear on your upper arms, thighs, and buttocks, sometimes with redness or swelling.” Sounds like facial milia for the rest of the body. Which just goes to show you that there are little, if any, differences between a sleeping mask and a night cream. It’s a crazy way to be introduced to a brand — it’s right there in the name. The Skinfix Redness Recovery+ Antioxidant Redness Treatment Leave-On Overnight Mask! Okay, I wasn’t paying much attention I guess. The texture of this “clean” formula honestly does seem more like a sleeping mask come to think of it. It’s a thick gel-cream that envelopes and comforts skin, infusing it with soothing antioxidant-rich plant oils, including antioxidant powerhouse Grape Seed Oil and something kinda random in the INCI that’s referred to as “Olus Oil (Vegetable Oil)”! What?! But it’s the Honey Extract, I think, that gives it a unique texture that makes me get all into applying it. Skinflix says that it’s a Honey and Peptide Complex that’s responsible for calming, soothing, and reducing visible redness. I have never heard that peptides can have that effect. This is my first experience with Skinflix. Which one is better: Sunrise (1) or Sunset (2) ? ☀️ Here are the two products I’ve been testing lately. Skinfix Barrier+ Foaming Creamy Oil Cleaners* doesn't strip the moisture from my sensitive skin and makes it feel soft and clean. I'm in love with the clean formula of this cleanser. It doesn't feel greasy and it lathers really well thanks to sulfate-free coconut cleansers. Not sure if you can use it on eyes - I tried once and it wasn't that effective though, but for the rest of the face this cleanser works pretty good. As for the Redness Recovery+ Antioxidant Redness Treatment*, I have really mixed feelings about it. I really like the clean, non-comedogenic non-irritating formula and it does help with redness. However, I didn’t see any dramatic result for my spider veins and rosacea and I didn’t find it really hydrating when used alone overnight. It works much better when used under the night cream though.
