The Queen and the Butterfly II: The Witch’s Curse - Part 4
This story is a sequel to “The Queen and the Butterfly”.
The story: Poppy offers Branch some cupcakes with butterflies in it which turns out to be mysterious. When the two Trolls eat them, they got transformed into butterflies themselves and realize that the cupcakes were actually cursed by an evil witch! Now they must try to find the witch who made those cupcakes and get a cure to get themselves back to normal, while encountering obstacles in the process along the way.
You already seen what had happened in Part 3. Now get ready for Part 4!:
Poppy and Branch kept fluttering away from that hungry spider. They panted as they flapped their wings and hovered up and down. Finally, they found a nearby rock and fluttered down to it, hiding behind it and plastering their wings to it as they tried to catch their breath.
Poppy and Branch panted heavily, frightened that the spider would come for them as soon as possible. They tried not to look back.
“That was close,” Poppy said, breathing hard.
Then she and Branch began to flutter off when...
A glass jar came down underneath them! Poppy and Branch flutter around the glass in a desperate attempt to get themselves out. They even tried breaking it with their hair when the jar turned around and they tumbled to the glass circle. Then they watched in horror as a red lid closed the jar shut.
Branch and Poppy tried using their hair to get the lid off and even pushed it with their heads but it was no good. They were trapped!
Trapped like little butterflies in a jar...
It was no other less than a second when Poppy noticed a blue hand clutching to the glass. She knew what this hand belongs to.
“Cooper?” she said, immediately recognizing it.
Correction. Cooper has Poppy and Branch locked up in his insect-catching jar! He took a closer look at them from inside it and cooed “Ooooh! I caught two pretty little butterflies! Aren’t you adorable?!”
But Branch and Poppy need to get out of the jar. Fast. So they flutter around and about in the jar, screaming at once in high-pitched voices:
“Cooper! Let us out of here! It’s us!”
“Please open this jar this instant! We’re Poppy and Branch! We’re turned into butterflies!”
“Help! Get us out of here now!”
“Cooper! Cooper! Cooper! Cooper!”
“Help! Help! Help! Help! Help! Help! Help!”
“Come on! Help! HEEEEELPP!!”
Their high-pitched cries caught Cooper’s attention. He looked down at the frightened fluttering butterflies and said “Oooooh, they talk! It’s sooo cute!”
“Cooper! Help!” Poppy and Branch yelled together, still flying in circles. “Let us out!”
Cooper lifted the jar a little so he can take a closer look at them. He cooed at them “You’re so cute! Look at your wings!”
Finally, Poppy couldn’t take it much longer. She fluttered in front of Cooper’s face and shrieked at the top of her lungs:
“Cooper, for the last time, it’s me, Poppy!”
As she said this, Cooper’s jaw dropped in utter shock. He said to Poppy “Whaaaaaat?! Poppy?! Is that you?!”
“Yes, it’s me Cooper!” she protested. “One of your Snack Pack buddies!”
“Wow! You’re so beautiful, my Queen!” he said in amazement. “What happened to your voice? It looks like a chipmunk’s!” He laughed as he said the last sentence.
Poppy scowled and yelled at him again “Please get us out of here right NOW!!!”
“Oh, okay!” Cooper answered while laughing. “Sorry! I can’t withstand everytroll’s jokes!”
Then after he finished laughing, he reached for the lid to free Poppy and Branch. But instead, he puts the jar down on the rock and went to a corner, sitting like a puppy.
Poppy and Branch exchanged an uneasy look. What is this strange Troll doing?!
“Why aren’t you freeing us?” Branch asked.
“I just want to see what happened to you guys! Why both of you have bodies of butterflies? Did you wear costumes like this and shrank?!” Cooper howled with laughter as he said this. Branch frowned and shook his head.
“No, Cooper!” Poppy corrected him. “We ate some candy butterfly cupcakes bought from an old hermit and then we suddenly transform into butterflies ourselves!”
“Yeah, and it was all Poppy’s fault!” Branch added.
“Branch!” Poppy said, glaring at him. The survivalist was disrespecting everytroll again!
“So lemme guess? You ate magical cupcakes?” Cooper asked.
“Yes, definitely!” Branch said. “And we are under a spell and we need to get back to normal immediately! Open the jar! We can’t breathe!”
“Oh, okay!” Cooper said, agreeing with this. “I’m so sorry I didn’t recognize you until now!”
He put a hand to the red lid on his jar and twisted it open. Poppy and Branch fluttered to the edge of it, thankful to have air and be saved by the world’s dumbest but kind-hearted Troll-giraffe hybrid.
Poppy spoke to Cooper in her high-pitched butterfly voice “We need your help. We need to get to Branch’s bunker safely. And he said that it was too dangerous for butterflies to fly around the forest by themselves!”
“Correction!” Branch shot back, raising an eyebrow.
“Oh, I would love to help you guys get there!” Cooper said excitedly, bounding up and down. Then he showed his green hat to Poppy and Branch and told them “Climb on my hat! It’s the safest way for all bugs like you to travel!”
“Excuse me? We’re not bugs!” Branch replied. “Are you sure about this? I don’t think it is safe!”
“It is safe! Trust me, Branch!” said Cooper, smirking at him. “You two are gonna love doing this! Hahahahahahaha!”
Poppy and Branch looked at one another, feeling uncertain that Cooper would often mess up and become careless if he loses them. But they have no choice but to listen to him anyway. So they flutter to Cooper’s hat and bury themselves underneath it.
After a moment of silence, Poppy and Branch peeked from the hat, their tiny heads glancing nervously at his face.
“Awwww!” Cooper cooed. “You’re so cute when you’re hiding like this!”
“One hundred percent wrong,” Branch sighed.
“So now what?” Poppy asked.
Cooper whirled around in circles and said excitedly at the top of his voice:
“Now just sit tight in my hair and fasten your seat belts! We’re going on a high-speed skitterboard ride!”
A skitterboard ride? Poppy and Branch exchanged worried glances again. They don’t think it would be really safe! They tried to warn Cooper about this but it was too late. He has just pulled out his skitterboard and began skating around the forest slope, hollering happily.
At least Poppy and Branch were hidden inside Cooper’s hat, managing to hold on. Cooper swerved his skitterboard back and forth. “YEEEEEEEE-HOOOOOOOO!!!!” he whooped, his eyes looking crazy. “THIS IS TOTALLY RAD!!! WE’RE DOING IT, YOU GUYS!!!”
“Yes, yes, fine,” Branch said. “Just keep your eyes on the road! You’re skating like an animal!”
“WOOO-HOOOO!!” Cooper hollered as he skated around the slope as fast like a bullet.
Poppy and Branch knew this wasn’t really safe. They keep trying to scream warnings to him to watch out for obstacles along the way.
“Cooper, please be careful!” Poppy whispered. “You might get us into an accident!”
“Don’t worry, Poppy! I got this under control! I will be very careful-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHH!!!!”
Cooper stopped talking for a second and screamed as he was heading straight for a snail! He tried to stop his skitterboard but he couldn’t! So he just rolled straight to it!
The skitterboard crashed to the shell of the little snail! Cooper tumbled and his hat with Poppy and Branch in it fell away!
“Ooof!” Cooper groaned as he landed in a heap and immediately sprang his hands with glee. “I’m okay!”
Then he noticed that his hat is not in his head and said “Hey, where’s my hat?”
Meanwhile, Cooper’s green hat carrying Poppy and Branch in it fell into a part of the forest, forcing the two Troll butterflies out of it and sending them to tumble away.
Once Poppy and Branch tumble out of sight, Cooper walked to this part looking for his beloved hat.
“That was fun! Now I had to look for my hat!” he said. “But where is it?”
When he looked down to see his hat on the ground, he cried happily “Ah, there ya are!”
Then he grabbed it with his teeth and puts it back on his head. He grinned at it and said “Let’s keep going, guys!”
Cooper thought Poppy and Branch were still inside his hat but he was wrong. They weren’t in his hat at all. Finally, he hopped back into his skitterboard and rolled away.
Meanwhile, in the other part of the woods, Poppy and Branch landed with a thud on the grass, groaning from the rough landing. They got up and shook themselves, straightening their little wings.
Then Branch, noticing that they were standing on grass, realized what is happening. He fluttered off the grass and saw that Cooper has already left! Dang it!
“Cooper, wait! You forgot about us!” he called. “Where are you going?!”
But there was no response. Poppy flew beside him with concern growing in her face.
“Aw, man!” Branch said. “I can’t believe we lost him!”
Note: Friendly reminder that this part reminds me of the “Coop, Where’s My Guy?” episode from TTBGO because in this part, Cooper is literally getting Poppy and Branch into trouble! LOL! 😂😂
