(I believe this is the right time to say this) some people have made a rather interesting headcanon about that cave scene. We all know that grimm grow smarter as they age, so how long must one live to learn to gather trophies of all its victories. I'm not sure how factual it is, I just found it and it really stuck in my head

Funny. I legitimately did not see it as that until you brought it up. I thought the refugees took... refuge in the cave and SlenderGrimm just sort of tracked them down.

This, then, does make me more curious about the general... state? of the Grimm. They've been getting larger in general due to societal unrest, but if this one has that kind of collector's urge, it might be more intelligent. Or it could be about as smart as a crow.
