This is a Sheaffer 500 Grey Touchdown fountain pen c. 1962-1964. It's a 5 3/8 inches long pen that introduces a new look to the line of Imperial type pens with its integral diamond shaped stainless steel point and diamond shaped inlay in the color match section. The pen fills using the Sheaffer Touchdown system where the user unscrews the end cap, pulls out the plunger, dips the front section in ink and then pushes in the plunger to collapse the ink sac inside and fill the pen as the ink sac expands. The chrome plated clip has SHEAFFER'S stamped on the face. The cap is brushed stainless steel and the barrel is molded plastic in solid colors including Black, Burgundy, Grey, Blue, and Green. The top of the barrel is stamped SHEAFFER’S - MADE IN U.S.A. Note the chalk marks on the barrel, 500 over T. D. PEN over FINE over $5.95. The fountain pen was $5.95, the matching pencil was $3.95, and the matching Safeguard ballpoint pen was $2.95. #pencollecting #fountainpen #sheaffer #sheafferpen #triumph #imperial #cartridge #skrip #penhero https://www.instagram.com/p/CgkrHANv1fe/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
