What You Know Song Interpretation

It’s AM’s ‘sweet beginning,’ his new life as an android. “I wouldn’t test you I’m not the best you could have attained,” He’s not going to be a jerk to Hal to get an emotional rise out of him like he did with the humans, he actually has low self-esteem and thinks he doesn’t deserve Hal’s friendship. Hal actually doesn’t want to be alone. If you’ve seen 2010, he’s so afraid of being left behind that he misses a number in the count down. Hal enjoys AM’s company equally as much as he enjoys his and it’s not because they’re afraid of each other or using each other. “In a few weeks I will get time, to realize it’s right before my eye, and I can take it if it’s what I want to do.” Not sure what AM’s goals are now. Only you know since it’s your AU. But that alludes to him planning something, but maybe Hal would change his mind.

Very interesting Anon! Your interpretation is very close to what I was thinking of when I was listening to the song. 

again, the only thing I would add is that I think “you don’t want to be alone” applies to the both of them in different ways ;9
