Skylar Blackfeather- The Troublemaker
14 years old, she/they, Lamb of the @flock-of-the-divine, rotating duties
A frightened little girl posing as an angry dog. Prone to acting out in bids for control she ends up losing just as fast as she has it. When not making a rebellious spectacle of herself Skylar is barely noticeable in a room, keeping to herself and her tasks- though at this point nobody confuses these peaceful moments for acceptance.
Skylar remembers life outside. She remembers fast food and theater class. Skylar remembers her mother and she’s going to be buried next to her. Even if she has to fight a God to do it.
Key Relationships
As a general rule Skylar struggles socially, being rather surly and asocial before. Tends to people watch and make others uncomfortable on accident.
Secretly reveres Lexi for her quiet rebellion. Desperate to connect to her, but is also terrified of getting either of them punished. Hasn’t even talked to her, just kinda stares and hopes she makes the first move.
Likes Natalie in that classic kid way where she’s just so cool in the eyes of a frantic frightened teenager. Has actually had a few conversations, which makes Nat as best a friend as Skylar has.
Opinions
Skylar wants to dislike Alette, but she’s just so frustratingly timid that Skylar can’t find it in herself to make up a bullshit issue. Likes to watch her knit but has never gotten closer, is afraid she might like her too much. Hopes to never see whatever the Divine has planned for the poor girl.
Maybe The Divine is God. Maybe he’s the Devil. Probably he’s something else entirely. Skylar’s interest is that question is wildly overshadowed by how much she needs to see him dead and rotting. She doesn’t know why he keeps her alive or what he wants with her but it scares the shit out of her.
Hates and fears the Oracles almost as much as she hates the Divine, seeing them as one and the same in the practical sense. Most of them are on a full name basis with her because of the trouble she causes. It can get complicated when her weird traumas rear their ugly head though.
Finds the Flock uncomfortably similar to foster care- a rotating roster of unstable people under the “care” of someone who leaves them to fight amongst each other for food and space. Mostly feels disgust or pity at her fellow lambs, depending on how devoted they are.
History
Skylar’s life is one of struggle and tragedy, the greatest of which being the loss of her deeply loved mother in a house fire she accidentally caused, and being left to drift around foster care. Originally taken to be a sacrifice as someone who wouldn’t be missed in the churning machine of the system, Skylar became a prospective lamb after spending the entire process spitting venom at and trying to maim everyone who dared touch her. The Divine thought her nearly inhuman rage was something he could make use of, only to find after her induction that it had turned into a useless simmer Skylar had no intentions of directing anywhere but at the thing that wants to control her. Luckily, she’s a little too small and smart to try anything, so she keeps her head down. For now.
